WHOSE HOUSE WITH AMANDA KELLER – RHONDA BURCHMORE Amanda Keller drops in on Australian entertainment icon, Rhonda Burchmore. From television to the big screen, musical theatre to opera and cabaret, she’s razzled and dazzled her way into our hearts. What does Amanda find when she sticky beaks around her Melbourne home? Rhonda is a major star in musical theatre, appearing in productions such as Sugar Babies, Stop The World I Want To Get Off, Song And Dance, They’re Playing Our Song, Lend Me A Tenor, Iolanthe, Die Fledermaus, An Evening With Sondheim, and Annie Get Your Gun. She was also in David Atkins’ Dancin’ Man, and Hot Shoe Shuffle. Other productions include Aladdin, Cinderella, Guys & Dolls, Into The Woods and Mame in both 2000 and 2008. She has played lead roles in Urinetown, Tomfoolery, RESPECT The Musical Journey of Women and she will forever be remembered for her role of Tanya in Mamma Mia. More recently Rhonda played Boyka in the production of Eurobeat, In January 2010 Rhonda starred as The Drowsy Chaperone in the MTC production of The Drowsy Chaperone with Geoffrey Rush and later in 2010 performed the role of Celia in the critically acclaimed Calendar Girls. Rhonda has starred in her first feature film, The Wedding Party, opposite Steve Bisley. She has released 4 albums, performed for President Clinton, sang our National Anthem at the Melbourne Cup and the Australian Grand Prix and was the entertainment ambassador for the 2004 Greek Paralympics. Legs 11, Rhonda’s autobiography was released in November 2010 and she has co- written/produced Cry Me A River – the World of Julie London. After rave reviews and sell-out shows at the Adelaide Cabaret Festival and Brisbane’s Powerhouse, Australia’s sexiest chanteuse Rhonda Burchmore brings Cry Me A River: The World of Julie London to Melbourne’s Comedy Theatre in August 2012 for 5 shows only from Thursday 16 to Sunday 19 August.
