2. Explain what sort of things Peter’s keys “bind” or “loose”/ prohibit or allow. Give an example.

Peter passed on his keys to other disciples – these are the Bishops.

Their job is to make sure people have access to God’s life through the sacraments and right teaching.

A Bishop’s job is also to oversee

Christian communities , making sure everyone is cared for and the

Christian faith is taught correctly.

Bishops are called Shepherds of the Church. They carry a shepherd’s staff

(a crozier) to show this.
