GOVERNORHeads the state executive branch. Elected for one term every four years and cannot serve more than one term.

Drafts state budget that keeps critical services intact, like Medicaid, Head Start, and other services.

Can call a special session of the state legislature to address urgent issues that reflect their agenda.

Ensures every eligible Virginian has access to the ballot box.

Appoints nearly 4,000 positions that determine how laws are enforced and how money is spent.

ATTORNEY GENERALThe Attorney General serves as the state’s primary lawyer. Elected to a four-year term.

Decides whether to bring lawsuits against the federal gov’t on issues critical to communities we serve, like

DACA and climate justice.

Interprets and implements the Commonwealth’s role regarding the civil rights of all Virginians, including

DACA recipients, people of color, and LGBTQ communities.

Helps interpret and implement laws passed by legislature, like photo identification laws.

VA HOUSE OF DELEGATESThe state is divided into 100 districts, and each district elects one representative. House of Delegates are elected every two years.

WHAT TO BRING TO VOTEVirginia law requires you present an acceptable form of identification (ID) that includes a photo when voting in person at your polling place.
