H We need your help! Project homecoming offers many volunteer options, ranging from one week to one year:

Volunteer: Stay at the volunteer village and work for one week with our experienced construction staff.

LTV: Long-term volunteer program offers room and board in exchange for up to 3 months of service. It’s a great way to really get to know New Orleans while giving back!

Volunteers are still needed in New Orleans. Many have given their service and fellowship to the rebuilding and revitalization efforts in the city, and much progress has been made. However, there are still many people looking for a way to return home, and many others who wish to own a home for the first time. New Orleans still has one of the highest rates of blighted (abandoned) homes in the country, and with your help, Project Homecoming can continue to help develop reslient communities.

“The joy of being a returning volunteer is seeing the progress that’s been made while you were gone- the city is coming back better, stronger, more equitable. I am proud to have played a small part in that.”

- Evan (Portland, OR)

AmeriCorps: Serve a full year as an AmeriCorps member, leading weekly volunteer groups on site, managing volunteers at the village, or working with homeowners in the office. You will receive a monthly stipend for your year of service

Project Homecoming has built over 200 homes (and counting) throughout New Orleans. We are building high-quality, energy efficient affordable homes, making the dream of homeownership attainable, while revitalizing hurricane damaged neighborhoods.

Because Project Homecoming relies so heavily on it’s volunteer work force, those working with us will be able to participate in almost all phases of construction, from painting to framing; there isn’t much we don’t do.

Project Homecoming works closely with neighbors and communities to provide quality affordable homes and rebuilding services to those in need, with preference to elderly, disabled, and uninsured.
