STRUGGLING TO PRESERVE LIFE

At its creation, GREENTECH was already active in the preservation of rare or threatened species by developing in vitro cultures and ever since, GREENTECH remains engaged in the preservation of the world plant resources. Since 1992, GREENTECH has been involved in collaborations with more than 20 countries, from the equator to the poles.

GREENTECH has established with producers in these countries, a policy of trade with mutual benefits for the purpose of long term development. Hence, GREENTECH is rooted in an initiative aimed at the protection of the planet and its populations.

In its immediate environment, GREENTECH participates in the preservation of the environment by contributing to the re-population of the mountainous habitat of the volcanic region in Auvergne through the culture of endemic species. GREENTECH participates along with the association “ Jardin en herbes ” on the project of creating botanical gardens in Auvergne.

Their ecologic and pedagogic vocations, sustain the valorization of biodiversity.

GREENTECH participates in research and development of new molecules for the prevention and treatment of different cancers. Both as a partner with CLARA

(Canceropole Lyon Auvergne Rhone Alpes) and as a member of the steering committee for the network

“Nutrition and hormone dependant cancers”, GREENTECH makes available to public institutions (CHU, CNRS, INRA, INSERM, CEA, Universities) and private organizations engaged in the fight against cancer, its supply network, its research and development team, its analytical tools and its production facilities.

Because the plant world also reaches from the oceans to fresh water, GREENTECH extended its research activity to the study of algae and micro-algae and develops biotechnological processes using micro-organisms.

Since its creation, GREENTECH has collaborated closely with French university centers and research institutes in Nantes, Clermont-Ferrand, Tours and Montpellier, abroad in Barcelona, Liege, Geneva, Glasgow and Beijing as well as with private research centers. These regularly result in the filing of patent applications. GREENTECH also conducts exclusive and confidential research and development projects with industrial partners.

At GREENTECH, it is about 20% of its gross income which is re-invested in research and development to stay at the forefront of innovation, and to perfect its knowledge of the plant world. GREENTECH has been able to develop a bio informatic technology capable of virtual screening of actives derived from botanical sources.

Since its creation, GREENTECH has not stopped its facilities development. Today, GREENTECH is expanded around 10 000 m2 (100,000 sq.ft), distributed in 3 plants. More than 2 000 m2 are dedicated to laboratories and 4 500 m2 are dedicated to production with high tech tools. Hence, the expansion of zones for production and research and development is constant to better respond to a

continuously increasing demand for products and services.

To this end, a new research center, based in Meze, France, on the Mediterranean coast has been emerged.

- At the heart of the GREENTECH team, 15 PhDs in Biology and Chemistry oversee the scientific integrity of the studies.- Around 25% of employees are in the R&D department.

The laboratory which extends over 500 m2 (5,000 sq. feet) is equipped with the most sophisticated research equipment, allowing GREENTECH to develop qualitative techniques for extraction, analysis and stabilization of its actives.

NATURALLY AT THE HEART OFBOTANICAL RESEARCH Created in 1992, GREENTECH established itself as the specialist in plant extraction, in research and development of performing and innovative actives for the cosmetic, pharmaceutical and nutraceutical industries.

With a rich database representing more than 30,000 plants and 300,000 bioactive molecules, GREENTECH commercializes actives and extracts (both liquid and dry) derived from extraction techniques most adapted to the conservation of the quality and properties of plants and their biologic activities.

Its scientific competence was

recognized in 1997 and 1999 by the Eureka prize for innovation awarded

TECHNOLOGY AT THE SERVICE OF CERTIFIED QUALITYCONSTANT CONTROLSIn 2011, GREENTECH was certified by AFSSAPS, the French Agency for the Safety of Health Products: GREENTECH complies with pharmaceutical GMP (Good Manufacturing practices).Also, since 2010, GREENTECH has been the first company to be certified ISO 22 716, assuring compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) which is a pillar of EU regulations on cosmetics. The control of quality begins with the reception of the plant, until the shipment of the active or extract, with a guarantee of perfect stability of the active principles. The rigorous analysis of the plant, of the extracts and its actives is a constant. Biochemical tests for activity in vitro and in vivo are conducted on all our actives with a pharmaceutical resolution.

THE ORGANIC LABEL A portion of production is conducted in a framework controlled by Ecocert and Natrue.

GREENTECH can therefore commercialize plant extracts and actives under the label BIO/Organic. Obtained from organic farms with a respect for the environment, extracted with solvent free processes and without any synthetic preservatives, these extracts and actives respond to the latest expectations of the cosmetic industry and its customers.
