Key Findings from my research
“Now I feel like I should be giving money to
charity and also getting a will. Like my to-do
list wasn’t along enough already.”-
anonymous respondent
What does this mean?
More then 58% of the respondents who
do not have a will said they would leave
a gift to charity when they made a will.
This is 12 times HJC’s national average
Why?
More key findings:
It is still the civic, woman with no children
who is most likely to give in their will.
Big decisions make people draft their first
will
Buying a house
Having children
Focus should also be put on younger
people drafting their first will
Remember a charity UK
“Together, we aim to do what no single
charity can do alone, making legacy giving
a social norm.”
15.7% of wills in the UK now have a
charitable gift in them compared to 14.1%
in 2000. A 10% jump!
