      • Build a standard plug-in for all LMSs
      • Tool and Content Providers can build one integration and use it in any LMS that supports the standard
      • Start simple and then expand feature sets to allow market to adjust over time and insure that engineering due diligence is being done phased release

    • Current-generation LMSs are old designs built to meet old needs
    • The LMS needs to evolve or be replaced
    • I believe it can evolve and is evolving
    • Current-generation systems are evolving primarily through better integration support
    • Next-generation systems being built right now will further this evolution
    • Current-generation and next-generation systems will need to co-exist and integrate for some time to come
    • The LMS also needs to integrate with the rest of the academic enterprise
