    BOARD OF TRUSTEES

JULY TRUSTEE: If you notice something that should be taken care of by the trustees in July, please contact Bruce Stone at 717-413-2409. Thank you, Todd Dickinson, for your faithful service during the month of June!

PARKING LOT: Access to the lower church parking lot has been modified. Entry and exit to the parking lot will be via Church Street only. Vehicles using the lot as a shortcut have created safety concerns. Others travelling north on Angle Street have limited visibility when crossing the alley to turn in to the lower entrance.

ADOPT A FLOWER BED: The Trustees are asking for assistance with weeding the flower beds around the Church property. Zones have been identified in order to create smaller; easy to maintain areas so the beds can be kept tidy without a lot of time commitment. Sign-up sheet is on the bulletin board by the flower calendar. Mulch, Preen and other weed sprays will be purchased and applied by the Trustees.

MOWING: The trustees are looking for volunteers to mow the grass at the church. (This saves money by not hiring a lawn service.) A signup sheet is posted on the bulletin board.

THE UPPER ROOM for July and August 2019 is available in the narthex. Cost is $1.00 per copy.

CAMPER CARE SPONSORS NEEDED LUMINA is seeking Camper Care sponsors for children in need. A sponsor’s donation of $100 will provide a child with a brand new sleeping bag, duffle, Bible, beach towel, raincoat, flashlight, toiletries, backpack and other gear, as well as a generous allowance on account at the camp store. Any leftover funds will help defray the cost of room and board. Sponsors may be individuals or groups, and they are encouraged to send their campers notes to read at camp mail call. To become a sponsor, please email Correen Russo at [email protected]. Donations should be written to “LUMINA” with Camper Care in the memo line. Checks may be mailed to: LUMINA 20 E. Brief Introduction - Pastor Brian and Barbara Pastor Brian is a native of Lebanon County. His bachelor’s degree is from Penn State, and his Master’s Degree is from the Evangelical Theological Seminary, in Myerstown, Pa. He spent a total of sixteen years in the nursing field. Nine of those years included serving in the Army medical corp. He learned to play guitar in his late 30’s in order to lead a country church into contemporary music, and still plays as the occasion permits. His biggest hobby is not music, but motorcycles. He met his bride to be at meeting of the Christian Motorcyclists Association. Barbara and Pastor Brian have been married almost 13 years. During that time, they have ridden in every state east of the Mississippi except Maine and Vermont. Barbara hails from California. Among other adventures, she worked for many years with the Mennonite Central Committee, living in England, traveling in Europe, behind the iron curtain and as far as Laos. We have a daughter, Gina, who will soon be moving to New Orleans. We mentioned that Pastor Brian learned the guitar late in life. Well Barbara got drum lessons from Pastor as a wedding present. She has since also learned the bass guitar. Her latest accomplishment, however has nothing to do with music. Just before returning to Pennsylvania from the Eastern Shore, Barbara earned her black belt in Ishimura Karate. There is one thing that they especially want you to now. “Since our families are spread out from California to PA to Florida, we have always looked to our church family for special connections. If God allows, may we have many wonderful years of fellowship together.”
