Crystals have a large association with the zodiac. And so the crystals selected for this

Cleansing and Awakening Crystals

Lesson One

Lazulite

In many ways a crystal can be compared to a sponge. As they are exposed to energy, they

absorb surrounding energies. Therefore when we want to use them for a specific purpose it

is suggested that the crystal be cleansed of any residual energies.

When choosing a crystal to use, slowly move your hand over the crystals until you feel one

that draws or calls out to you. You may gently handle each crystal as well, to see if one

connects with you.

A note about using cleaning methods: Not all cleansing methods are safe and/or suggested

for all crystals. Do your research and choose the best method of cleansing for each of your

particular crystals.

The next step is to cleanse the crystal using one of the following methods:

One of the oldest ways of cleansing crystals is by smudging. Native Americans have used

this method for many generations. Use Sage, Sweet grass or Cedar as a smudge for

cleansing the negative energies away.

Bury the crystal in a pile of sea salt for 24 hours.

Salt can be very harmful to some stones, for example, an opal left in salt will be ruined.

You could place the crystals in a glass dish which is in turn embedded in to a larger dish

which is full of salt. The cleansing energy is still active and the crystal is safe.

In the sunlight soak the crystal in salt water (3 teaspoons sea salt to one cup of water) using

a clear glass, for 1 to 7 days.

Again, check if your crystal would benefit from this type of cleansing or not.

Place the crystal in a running stream for 1 to 3 days. You may want to place them in a

mesh bag so that they don't get washed away.

Let the crystal sit outside all night where the rays of Mother Moon can bathe them and

thus cleanse them of unwanted energies.

Bury the crystal witnin Mother Earth for 1 to 7 days. This method of cleansing has a deep

grounding affect on the crystal.

Place a crystal out in the full sunlight for 1 to 3 days. Again, this may not be a suitable

method of cleansing for some crystals. Do your research.

And yet another way is to place the crystal to be cleansed upon a pile of other crystals in a

glass bowl. Especially useful is a bed of quartz, a crystal which is known as a universal

healer and amplifier of crystal energy. Quartz is an excellent amplifier whether the energy

be its own or that of another crystal.

Gather a bunch of sweet smelling flowers and cleanse your crystal be laying it amongst the

flowers for 24 hours. The essence of the flowers will add a purity to the cleansing.

Or you could place your crystal in a bag of brown rice for 24 hours. The rice will remove

the negative energy from the crystal and transform it into positive energy which will flow

into the rice. In this method the rice becomes energized as well and is very good to eat.

Awakening crystals:

Awakening crystals is in effect, a method of aligning the energies within. This can be done

in one of several ways.

1. Take the crystal to the ocean and pound it upon the sand once. The connection between

the crystal and the charged sands of the sea will align the energies within the crystal.

2. The sounding of a meditative gong will awaken and align the energies of the crystal. The

vibrations of the gong resonate at just the right frequency to call out to the crystal being

awakened.

3. Tibetan prayer bells also resonate with the energy of the crystal. And if you wish to ohm

along with the awakening process, that is ok too.

Once cleansed and awakened your crystal is ready for use. One of these uses may be an

Elixir (mineral water).

Pour some mineral water into a glass. Place the mineral of your choice within the glass for

24 hours. Remove the mineral and you have an elixir ready to drink. If you are looking for

a specific manifestation to happen, then you may wish to program your crystal before

making an elixir. This is done by holding the crystal in your primary hand. Ground and

center and then focus your third eye on the crystal. Surround the crystal with a golden

light and then project your desire into the crystal. Do this for several minutes and then

place it into the elixir.

Sometimes elixirs are made of more than one crystal. Here is an example of this:

Angovar Elixir (Used to send healing energies)

During the first new moon make an elixir using a half gallon of mineral water as well as an

Amethyst, Citrine and a Rose Quartz and let it sit.

On the second new moon add some natural iron or copper and again, let it set

During the third new moon, dish out one cup of the elixir and add 1/2 tsp. sage, 1/2 tsp.

cedar and 9 rose hips. Bring this mixture to a boil, strain; allow cooling and then adding

back to the elixir. Then add 1 oz. of low grade alcohol per 1 oz. of elixir.

Use to anoint the third eye when preparing to transmit healing energies.

Lesson Two

Fluorite

There are many different configurations associated with crystals. The energies associated

with each configuration, varies from crystal to crystal.

Some crystals are fabricated by artificial means. There are those who believe that

fabricated crystals do not carry the same energies as natural crystals. And then there are

those who believe that they do as in the Ankh for instance.

Following are some of the natural configurations in crystals.

Asteriated star - This is a crystalline structure within the crystal

that when exposed to direct light, exhibits the rays of a star.

Usually, this is either a four or six rayed star.

One example would be a Star Sapphire.

Bridge crystal - This occurs when a small crystal is growing out of a larger crystal. This

crystal acts as a portal between the realms. It is an excellent crystal to carry when teaching

or publicly speaking.

Cluster crystal - This is of course as the name indicates, a cluster of like crystals.

Keep a Amethyst cluster beside your bed for peaceful dreams.

This cluster brings soothing and tranquil energies to the area.

Dendritic crystal - These crystals form with a form or markings similar to moss or a

fern. Such crystal forms are often mistaken for fossils. Dendritic crystals are sometimes

called Snow crystals because of the configurations on the crystal. A good example of such

a crystal is the Moss Agate.

Moss Agate improves self-esteem by strengthening positive personal traits and balancing

discordant emotional energies.

Double terminated. They are crystals that display a termination on both ends of the

crystal.

Double terminated crystals strengthen energy flow. They are used for alignment,

perseverance, protection, dreaming and astral projection. Often these crystals come from

the quartz family.

Generator crystal - This particular crystal has a configuration of crystals melding at the

top of the crystal face. Quartz is a good example of this formation. Generator crystals are

basically clear, smoky quartz, amethyst or citrine quartz that are excellent for channeling

and grounding healing energy. Most often they are a flat bottom crystal. Generator crystals

are also called "Merlin" crystals.

Manifestation crystal - In this configuration, one crystal is completely enclosed by

another crystal.

This crystal helps people who have had a traumatic childhood due to physical or emotional

abuse.

These crystals can also be used to facilitate artistic creativity and creative thinking. They

can be very helpful for people who are blocking painful memories.

Record Keeper crystal - This crystal has several triangles rising up from the crystal

face. The record keeper is a crystal within which wisdom is stored. When one is properly

attuned to this crystal, the ancient knowledge and deep secrets of the universe can become

revealed through ones Third Eye. This crystal allows one to incorporate higher knowledge,

wisdom, peace, and love into their lives. These crystals are also known as recorder crystals.

Sheet or Lens crystal - These crystals form in very thin sheets and are generally layered.

Mica would be an example of this type of crystal. Sheet crystals like mica are useful for

inner reflection. They also help to diminish anger, temper tantrums and nervous energy.

Tabular crystal - This crystal is also flat but thicker then s sheet/lens crystal. And it has

notches on one or more of its flat sides. Wulfenite is an example of this type of crystal.

A ruby would be another good example.

Twin crystal - This occurs when two or more individual crystal grows together as one.

Twinned crystals facilitates the building of relationships on all levels, acting to encourage

encounters ones soul-mate. It helps one to create a balance in life. The twin crystal is also

useful for melding consciousness of divergent groups.

Mohs scale

The well known Mohs scale was named for Friedrich Mohs (1773-1839), a noted German

mineralogist. He developed his system of testing the hardness of crystals in 1812 CE.

It is a scale for classifying minerals based on relative hardness, determined by the ability of

harder minerals to scratch softer ones. The scale includes the following minerals, in order

from softest to hardest:

1. Talc 2. Gypsum 3. Calcite

4. Fluorite 5. Apatite 6. Orthoclase

7. Quartz 8. Topaz 9. Corundum

10. Diamond

Crystal Systems

Crystals are divided into one of 7 different classifications. Following are a description of

each of these systems.

Cubic

A crystal system where the cell dimensions are equal, and all inter-axis angles are 90 deg.

This has the highest form of symmetry possible. It is composed of three crystallographic

axes of equal length and at right angles to each other. There are 15 forms, all closed, in the

Isometric Crystal system. This property of being devoid of a face is unique to this system.

Hexagonal

Hexagonal is a crystal system characterized by the presence of a hexad (axis of 6-fold

rotation). Two of the axes are 120 deg apart and are of equal length. The third axis (c) is

aligned with the hexad, and is 90 deg to the other two axes. The hexagonal system is uni-

axial, meaning it is based on one major axis.

The hexagonal and trigonal systems are unlike any of the other systems in terms of

crystallographic axes. While the other systems use three crystallographic axes, the

hexagonal and trigonal systems use four axes.

Monoclinic

A crystal system where the cell dimensions (a,b,c) are of unequal length. Two of the axes

are at 90 deg to each other, whilst the third is not.

The monoclinic system is the largest symmetry system with almost a third of all minerals

belonging to one of its three classes.

Orthorhombic

A crystal system where the cell sizes (a,b,c) have different lengths, but all of the inter-axis

angles are 90 deg.

The orthorhombic system is based on three unequal axes all at right angles to each other.

Tetragonal

Tetragonal is a crystal system where two of the axis is of equal length, with the vertical axis

being of a different length, either longer or shorter.

All inter-axis angles are 90 deg. A requirement of this type of system is the four fold

rotational axis.

Triclinic

Triclinic is a crystal system where the three cell dimensions are unequal length and none of

the corresponding axes are at 90 deg. This is the lowest form of crystal symmetry possible

and contains only two symmetry classes. One class contains only a center and the other

class is left with no symmetry at all.

Trigonal

This is a crystal system which is similar to the hexagonal system. This is characterized by a

triad (axis of 3-fold rotation). Two of the cell axes are 120 deg apart, and are both 90 deg

from the c axis which is aligned with the triad.

Numerical Vibrations of Crystals

Lesson Three

Copper

When using numerology to define the vibrations of one’s full name, it is thought that the

numbers that are left out are the ones that are needed to assist in one’s personal spiritual

growth. Crystals, with their wide ranging abilities can be utilized to provide the necessary

lessons/energy needed to make up for those missing numbers.

For reinforcement of the letters that are included in ones names, again, crystals serve an

important purpose.

All crystals have a numerical/vibration number assigned to them.

To access this vibration number, use the following numerical table:

Most authorities will agree that the full birth name as recorded on your birth certificate is

the name that must be used for all calculations involving your name. To arrive at your

Destiny number, take each name separately and add up the letter values using the

conversion chart above. Reduce each name to a single digit . Then add the results of all of

the names to arrive at a total which you then once again reduce to a single digit or master

number.

Once you have done this process, select the crystals that will serve you best.

Following are the values assigned to each number:

Number 1

Black Opal

The number 1 Destiny suggests that the direction of growth in your lifetime will be toward

gaining greater independence and establishing yourself as a leader. A name producing a 1

Destiny may help you gain the talents to become a skilled executive with keen

administrative capabilities, or perhaps a sales executive, or promoter. You have within you

what it takes to become an original person with a creative approach to problem solving,

and a penchant for initiating action.

Progressing through life, you will become one who seeks to expand and broaden

opportunities to find new careers and new inventions. You must develop skills in

innovation and ingenuity.

You have a good mind and the ability to use it for your advancement. Because of these

factors, you have much potential for achievement and financial rewards. Frequently, this

Destiny belongs to one running a business or striving to achieve a level of accomplishment

on ones talents and efforts.

As you mature, you must become increasingly ambitious and determined. Self-confident

and self-reliant must be yours, as you develop a strong unyielding will and the courage of

your convictions.

The 1 Destiny presents a tendency for you to fear the routine and being in a rut. You often

jump the gun because you are afraid of being left behind. The negative attributes of the 1

Destiny include one becoming egotistic and developing a self-centered approach to life.

This is an aggressive number and if it is overemphasized it is very hard to live with. You do

not have to be overly aggressive to fulfill your destiny. You do not have to dominate and

destroy in order to lead and manage.

Number 2

Epidote

The number 2 Destiny suggests that the direction of growth in your lifetime will be toward

gaining an understanding of people and a greater spiritual sense of the world around you.

A name producing a 2 Destiny gives you the tools to work very well with other people. Your

destiny will be, in part, in the role of the mediator and the peacemaker.

As you grow in this direction, you become sensitive to the feelings of others, you become

diplomatic in handling complicated situations.

The spiritual potential for the number 2 Destiny and in particular for the master number

11 is very high. You have the capacity to be inspirational, and the ability to lead merely by

your own example.

An inborn inner strength and awareness can make you an excellent teacher, social worker,

philosopher, or advisor. No matter what area of work you pursue, you are very aware and

sensitive to the highest sense of your environment. Your intuition is very strong; in fact,

many psychic people and those involved in occult studies have the number 11 Destiny.

Indeed, the 2 has a spiritual connection not found in other numbers.

In many ways you are dependent on others and seem to function best in a partnership or in

some form of group activity. As you mature, modesty will run deeper in your nature, and

you must work comfortably without recognition of your accomplishments.

Often, others will get credit for your ideas, and this must be of little real concern to you as

entertainer. Obviously, for most, the first more likely, but, this Destiny does incline you

along a variety of lines that may include writing, speaking, singing, acting or teaching. For

some the interest in and appreciation of the arts is there, but the creative pursuit of these

interests might not arrive.

You also have the destiny to sell yourself or sell just about any product that comes along.

You may indeed be a natural salesman as the 3 traits are always welcome in sales and

public relations. You are imaginative in your presentation and a pleasure to be around.

As you mature you must become an optimistic person that seems ever enthusiastic about

life and living.

You are friendly, loving and social, and people like you because you are charming and such

a good conversationalist. You must develop an ability to communicate effectively in order

to inspire others. It is your role in life to inspire and motivate.

Friends are extremely important to the 3 Destiny, and you must develop the ability to be a

true friend. Through this talent you will achieve success. Opportunities open for you as you

The negative side of number 3 Destiny is superficiality. You may tend to scatter your forces

Moonstone

The number 4 Destiny suggests that the direction of growth in your lifetime will be toward

a greater sense of order, service, and management skills. As you develop, you must adopt

an approach that is more practical, down-to-earth, and thorough. You must be willing to

work those long, hard hours to push a project through to completion.

A increase in your patience with detail allows you to become expert in fields such as

The Destiny 4 produces a very moral character and you must choose your friends from

those living up to your high standards. It will be difficult to hide your disappointment in

who are, like yourself, practical, moral, and doing good works for others.

The negative side of 4 often produces dominant and bossy individuals. If there is too much

4 energies present in your makeup, you may express some of the negative attitudes of the

number 4. The obligations that you face may tend to create frustration and feelings of

limitation or restriction.

All 4s and particularly the 22 may accentuate unorthodox methods to the point of

eccentricity. This negative manifestation of the 4 Destiny can also be very dominating and

overbearing. Avoid becoming too rigid, stubborn, dogmatic, and fixed in your opinions.

You may have a tendency to develop and hold very strong likes and dislikes, and some of

these may border on the classification of prejudice.

Number 5

Datolite

The number 5 Destiny suggests that the direction of growth in your lifetime will be toward

becoming a harbinger of change, freedom, and progressive thought and action. The

number 5 Destiny potentially endows you with the wonderful characteristic of multi-talents

and versatility. You must develop in ways allowing you to do so many things well.

The tone of the number 5 is the constructive use of freedom, and in your drive to attain this

freedom, you must be the master of adaptability and change.

As you mature, you must become good at presenting ideas and knowing how to approach

people to get what you want.

Naturally, this will give you an edge in any sort of selling game and spells easy success

when it comes to working with people in most jobs. Whatever you do, you have the capacity

to be clever, analytical, and a very quick thinker.

You must learn to accept changes as they come along and avoid clinging to the outdated.

Avoid rebellion, and focus on enlightenment and progression thinking that will benefit

mankind. You life is broadened by gaining an understanding and an appreciation of all

The Destiny 5 will be welcome in many varied professional environments. The public sector

is a natural for you because you must administer to all peoples.

The media, advertising, promotion, publicity, all types of selling, and entertainment are all

potential fields that may interest you. Settling on a single career may not be in the cards for

you, as you are in a continuous state of flux brought by constantly changing interests.

If there is too much of the 5 energy in your makeup or if you develop negatively, the

negative side of the number may appear. Your restless and impatient attitude may keep

you from staying with any project for too long. Sometimes you can be erratic and scatter

yourself and your energies.

You have a hard time keeping regular office hours and maintaining any sort of a routine.

As clever as you are, you may have a tendency to make the same mistakes over and over

again. Much of your response to such errors is glib reaction rather that thoughtful

application.

Number 6

Onyx

The number 6 Destiny suggests that the direction of growth in your lifetime will be toward

a greater sense of responsibility, love, and balance. Development in life must make you

more helpful, conscientious, and capable of rectifying and balancing any sort of

inharmonious situation. You must be a person very much inclined to give help and comfort

to those in need. You have a natural penchant for working with the old, the young, the sick,

or the underprivileged.

As the saying goes, charity begins at home, and the home is where you must be a special

person. The qualities of the 6 make the finest and most concerned parent, and one who is

often deeply involved in domestic activities.

Openness and honesty is apparent in your approach to all relationships, particularly close

family relationship. A happy home life is the goal of Destiny 6, and if you live up to the

promises of this number, you will reap this reward most likely with some degree of luxury

and grace.

Although you may have considerable creative and artistic talents, the chances are that you

Rose Quartz

The number 7 Destiny suggests that the direction of growth in your lifetime will be toward

thought, analysis, and the development of a mind skilled at searching out the truth.

You must become accomplished at analyzing, judging and discriminating, so that little

escapes your observation and deep understanding. In this you will become increasingly

introspective, and value reclusiveness and solitude.

You are the type of person that can really get involved in a search for wisdom or hidden

truths, and you must become an authority on whatever it is you focus on.

This can easily be of a technical or scientific nature, or it may be religious or occult, it

matters very little, you pursue knowledge with the same sort of vigor. You can make a very

fine teacher, or because of a natural inclination toward the spiritual, you may become

deeply emerged in religious affairs or even psychic explorations.

You have excellent capabilities to study and learn really deep and difficult subjects, and to

search for hidden fundamentals.

You tend to operate on a rather different wavelength, and many of your friends may not

A tendency to be highly introverted can make you a bit on the self-centered side, certainly

very much self-contained. Because of this, you are not very adaptable, and you may tend to

be overly critical and intolerant.

Number 8

Selenite

The number 8 Destiny suggests that the direction of growth in your lifetime will be a move

up the ladder of attainment in the material world, to achieve financial security, and status

amongst your peers. The positive 8 Destiny produces individuals that are very ambitious

They are highly charged, difficult to handle, and require time, maturity, and great effort to

"St. Augustine of Hippo in B.C.E. 354 - 430 wrote ―Numbers are the Universal language

offered by the deity to humans as confirmation of the truth." Similar to Pythagoras, he too

believed that everything had numerical relationships and it was up to the mind to seek and

investigate the secrets of these relationships or have them revealed by divine grace."

Master Number 11:

Jade

The number 11 is the most intuitive of all numbers. It represents illumination; a channel to

the subconscious; insight without rational thought; and sensitivity, nervous energy,

shyness, and impracticality.

It is a dreamer. The 11 has all the aspects of the 2, enhanced and charged with charisma,

leadership, and inspiration. It is a number with inborn duality, which creates dynamism,

inner conflict, and other catalyses with its mere presence.

It is a number that, when not focused on some goal beyond itself, can be turned inward to

create fears and phobias.

The 11 walks the edge between greatness and self-destruction. Its potential for growth,

stability, and personal power lies in its acceptance of intuitive understanding, and of

spiritual truths. For the 11, such peace is not found so much in logic, but in faith. It is the

psychic's number.

11"s can be assertive and fanatical in their viewpoints, joining cults or fanatical religious

sects, becoming overzealous. These personalities may attack dissimilar viewpoints, being

oversensitive to public reaction and cynical toward society in general.

Master Number 22:

Galena Albite

The 22 is the most powerful of all numbers. It is often called the Master Builder. The 22

can turn the most ambitious of dreams into reality. It is potentially the most successful of

all numbers. It has many of the inspirational insights of the 11, combined with the

practicality and methodical nature of the 4.

It is unlimited, yet disciplined. It sees the archetype, and brings it down to earth in some

material form. It has big ideas, great plans, idealism, leadership, and enormous self-

confidence. If not practical, the 22s waste their potential.

Like the 11, the 22 can easily shrink from its ambition, causing difficult interior pressures.

Both the 11 and the 22 experience the pressure-cooker effect very strongly, particularly at

an early age.

It must work toward the realization of goals that are larger than personal ambition. The 22

serves the world in a practical way.

Those with a 22 personality can be egotistical in their behavior towards others. Even

resorting to inflating information and credentials about themselves they can have a

tendency to over-evaluate their self-importance.

Even to the point of exaggerating information and personal credentials to inflate their need

for self importance. They can be apathetic toward the needs of others, often ending up

involved in criminal acts.

Master Number 33:

Hanksite Cobalite

The 33 is the most influential of all numbers. It is the Master Teacher.

The 33 combines the 11 and the 22 and brings their potential to another level.

When expressed to the fullest, the 33 lacks all personal ambition, and instead focuses its

considerable abilities toward the spiritual uplifting of mankind.

What makes the 33 especially impressive, is the high level of sincere devotion. This is shown

in its determination to seek understanding and wisdom before preaching to others. The 33

in full force is extremely rare.

Bavenite

On the down side those with a 33 can be assertive in their attempts to serve others.

They can be found to be intolerant of differing opinions, over-reacting in an emotional

manner, usually portraying a very self-centered personality. They generally avoid positions

of responsibility, preferring to constantly seek empowerment through acceptance by

others.

Master Number 44:

Orthoclase Rhonite

The number 44 represents structure and is a harmonious keystone in building of a group

consciousness. These numerical personalities have well trained mental abilities They trust

the wisdom of their own inner authority, very practical and usually sound visionaries.

They are able to combine artistic abilities with practical abilities for a good outcome.

Oligoclase

On the other hand they can be rigid in administrating ideas and beliefs and emotionally

insensitive to others perceived shortcomings.

They will often use money and power to control others.

They generate good ideas; but expect others to carry them out.

They can be very overbearing.

This is the Master Number known as the Divine Will.

These personalities are harmonious. They seek to become one with the Higher Will/Power.

They are innovative and inventive while inspiring the same in others. They are often

pioneers of new ways of thinking and reform. They project an aura of individual

awareness, and make for dynamic leaders.

Pectolite

On the negative side they sometimes seek to escape responsibility and commitment. They

can become pessimistic and defeatist in their attitudes. These types are egocentric to a fault.

They tend to blame their fate and/or shortcomings on others.

Ruby in Kyanite

This is the Master Number that represents Universal Joy. These folks often get

involved in programs/institutions which focus on alleviating suffering around the planet.

They are often, excellent counselors and inspired healers, very dedicated to their work.

On the down side they tend to force emotional confrontation before others are ready. There

may be a tendency to be critical of others emotional phobias and insecurities, allowing

them to prey upon the emotional weakness in others.

Passive inability to recognize and admit one's own emotional blocks, good silent victims,

expect others to "read" your moods of suffering and pain, blames lack of happiness on

external people and events, wallows in negative anima.

Harmoniously involved in causes (institutions) helping to alleviate human (animal,

planetary) suffering, excellent counselors and healers, inspired artist who works on the

archetypal level, helps bring the joy of nature and angels to mankind, positive ray in

gloomy environs.

Master Number: 77

Fourmarieite Petrified Wood

This is the Master Number representing Creative Thought.

These folks are usually involved in science and technology.

They are constantly seeking to explore the philosophies of life.

Purple Fluorite

On the reverse side they can present themselves as intellectual elitists.

They may be very anal and extreme in their thoughts and actions towards others.

They may even be unsociable and detached, pessimistic about change in human nature.

These folks project themselves as cold and unemotional.

Master Number: 88

Pink Tourmaline Pharmocosiderite

The number 88 is the Divine Knowing number. It teaches universal laws which improve

management skills, delegate’s authority in a way that gives each person his/her own sense

of power, works to find cooperation within the higher laws of mathematics. These folks are

adept at metaphysical philosophies. They respect integrity and honesty.

And they are constantly striving to develop new ideas of thermodynamics, hydraulics and

engineering theories.

However they can maintain a slightly haughty arrogance separating themselves from

others.

They can become intellectually opposed to society and thus present a danger to others. The

UNA Bomber was an example of such a person. In some cases they will exaggerate their

abilities in an effort to outshine those around them.

Master Number: 99

I personally do not know of a crystal that vibrates to the Master Number of 99. But here is

a brief interpretation of this number.

The Master Number 99 represents Universal Love. Folks with this number are usually very

enlightened as to the Greater Universal plan.. They are generally level headed without the

personality issues. They seek to serve humanity, doing so with a deep sense of self

awareness. They are often times, visionaries.

By the same token they can go too far to the other extreme and get caught up in selfish

motives. They can be seen as hypochondriacs, using such issues to draw attention to them.

They can be blind to their own true feelings to others. They can also be the ultimate self

martyrs.

Aries

If you are going to use the energy of the planets to cleanse and charge your crystals here

are some guidelines.

Use sunlight for the crystals ruled by the Sun, Mercury, Mars, Jupiter or Uranus.

Use the rays of the Moon for those crystals ruled by the Moon, Venus, Saturn, Neptune or

Pluto.

Aries is the first sign of the zodiac, and is ruled by the planet Mars. Under the tropical

zodiac, Aries is occupied by the Sun from about March 21 to April 19 (depending on which

year) and is associated with the Spring Equinox. Aries is a sign of new beginnings,

enthusiastic, full of energy, and always ready to try something new.

This association is also shared with Gemini and Pisces. The name aquamarine is of Latin

origin meaning sea water in allusion to its color. Aquamarine is the birthstone for the

month of March.

Aquamarine is utilized to expand your awareness of the truth at all levels of existence.

These are the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual levels. This crystal is known as the

"Stone of Courage". This stone enhances the intellectual levels rapidly. And through

wisdom comes strength.

Aquamarine can be used to cleanse charge and stimulate the Throat chakra thus enhancing

ones communication skills. It shields the aura and initiates alignment of the chakras.

Its soothing effect helps to reduce stress and to calm the mind. With such clarity one can

see reason to all occasions.

This stone is used in the treatment of swollen glands. It also enhances the eyesight. To use

for healing, place the charged Aquamarine crystal on the appropriate spot for about 15

minutes at a time. Leave it a couple or so hours between sessions. During the middle ages,

aquamarine was often used as an antidote against poison. This crystal can also be used for

making an elixir.

Aquamarine is often carried by sailors to prevent drowning. It is a good luck charm for

Scorpions. And is an excellent stone for use in meditation. The Element for aquamarine is

Water. Its Energy is Receptive and its planet is the Moon.

Gypsum - CaSO4-2(H2O), Hydrated Calcium Sulfate

Selenite is the clear, transparent form of the mineral gypsum. Selenite is named for Selene,

the Moon Goddess Alabaster is another variety of gypsum.

Gypsum is used to shape ones character. It contributes to a sense of self awareness in times

of frantic happenings.

It is often used as the center piece for the Medicine Wheel, serving as the bond between the

six directions, (N, E, S, W, Mother Earth below and Father Sky above).

I personally do a ritual called "The Temple" that employs Gypsum in such a medicine

wheel.

Gypsum is called the Lucky Stone as it is known to bring good fortune to its bearer. This

stone has also been used often in Rain-making ceremonies. Toss it numerous times into the

air so as to draw the rain down.

Gypsum is sometimes made into an elixir and either drank or applied topically. This is

done to tone the skin and make it more elastic.

Gypsum is an excellent stone for use in developing mental telepathy. This crystal vibrates

to the number 2. The energy of gypsum is magnetic. Its associated Elements are Earth and

Water. And it is ruled by the planets; Venus and Neptune.

Sardonyx/Onyx - SiO2 - Silicon Dioxide

Color: usually black or brown with white bands.

Class: Silicate

Crystal system: cryptocrystalline form of quartz

The word Sardonyx is derived from the Greek, Sard meaning "reddish brown," and onyx

meaning "veined gem". The tale is that one day Cupid cut the divine fingernails of Venus

with an arrowhead while she was sleeping. He left the clippings scattered on the sand and

the Fates turned them into stone so that no part of the heavenly body would ever perish.

According to Pliny, sard is named after Sardis where that mineral is found. Onyx is named

after the word for "nail" because its veined appearance resembles a fingernail.

Sardonyx is the birthstone of Leo: July 23 - Aug 22.

Sardonyx/onyx is known as a symbol of eloquence. During the Renaissance, sardonyx was

believed to bring eloquence upon the wearer and was regarded very highly by public

speakers and orators.

Onyx is used to strengthen the heart and kidney. It also strengthens the nerves and

capillaries. And Sardonyx is used as well as a hair and nail strengthener. Onyx is worn to

help one sleep. This crystal helps to eliminate apathy, stress and neurological disorders.

It calms the mind and aids in communication. The coolness of the stone when placed on

the eyelids is said to bring respite from discomfort.

Use Black Onyx to help change an unwanted habit. Wear onyx to sharpen ones intellectual

outlook and spiritual inspirations. Sardonyx aids in promoting happiness in relationships

and marriages. Sardonyx is known as the "Stone of Virtue".

It is also known as a stone of protection and strength.

Sardonyx is used to heal the lungs and to strengthen the immune system.

It is thought that Sardonyx was one of the stones in the breastplate of the Hebrew High

Priest.

Sardonyx is ruled by the planet Mars. It vibrates to the number 3.

Kyanite - Al2 SiO5, Aluminum Silicate

The name "Kyanite" derives from the Greek word "kyanos", meaning blue. Kyanite is

typically a blue silicate mineral.

Kyanite is used to stimulate ones, psychic awareness. It helps promote communication and

encourages tranquility.

It is known as the "Stone of Attunement".

Blue Kyanite is excellent for use on the Throat and Third-Eye chakras. Green Kyanite

corresponds to the Heart Chakra and Black Kyanite corresponds to the Root Chakra.

Black Kyanite is also very protective and deflects negativity.

But Kyanite of any color can be used to instantly align all of the chakras. It is also used to

open the chakras. Kyanite can remove energy blockages in the chakras.

Since Kyanite does not accumulate negative energy, it never needs to be cleansed or

charged. Therefore it is an excellent stone for attunements. Citrine is the only other crystal

that does not need to be cleansed or charged.

Enstatite is used to energize the Root and Sacral chakras.

Hessonite is a rare orange or cinnamon colored Garnet. The Sanskrit name for Hessonite is

"gomedak". The Indi name is "gomed". It is also known as the Cinnamon Stone.

In Indian mythology, Hessonite is thought to be the fingernails of the God, Valla.

Hessonite is a good balancing stone. It calms the nerves, quiets the mind and relieves

depression. It improves the intellect, lessen aggressive tendencies and increase self-esteem.

Hessonite is used to regulate hormone production, stimulate metabolism and to encourage

absorption of nutrients. It is also used to strengthen the immune system and to release

toxins.

It is used to stimulate the Solar Plexus chakra. And is an excellent stone for meditation. It

Periclase - MgO, Magnesium Oxide

Periclase comes from the Greek "περικλάω", to break around. This is an allusion to the

such as canker sores, herpes and other such infections. It is useful in the treatment of acid

indigestion.

modesty, courage, justice and wisdom.

Jadeite is also a stone of abundance and prosperity and is protective and will guard against

Jadeite is used to create cohesiveness in groups and to treat dysfunctional relationships.

Jadeite was used by the Native Americans to heal the kidneys as well as aiding in

Lesson Six

Taurus, the Bull

The Taurean's characteristics are solidity, practicality, extreme determination and

strength of will - no one will ever drive them, but they will willingly and loyally follow a

leader they trust.

Taurus is one of the many animals hunted by Orion, the Hunter.

The Greeks saw Taurus as Zeus in disguise. The story went that Zeus fell in love with

Europa, the daughter of Agenor who was King of Phoenica. On one day while she was

playing by the water’s edge, she caught sight of a majestic white bull grazing amongst her

father’s heard. When she approached the bull, it knelt down and let her get on its back.

Once she was on, it sprang to its feet and took off to the sea in Crete where Zeus made her

his mistress.

It also represents the white bull that sired the famous Minotaur with the wife of King

Minos of Crete. This bull was sent to Minos as a sign that he was the rightful heir to the

throne. However, Minos did not sacrifice the bull to Poseidon like he was supposed to, so

the ever-vengeful sea god caused his queen, Pasiphaë, to fall in love with it.

Yet in another myth, Theseus of Athens goes to Crete and slays the dreadful Minotaur,

which was reported to be a man with a bull's head that could breathe fire.

The Egyptians saw the constellation instead as their god Osiris while the Chinese called it

alternatively the "White Tiger" or the "Great Bridge."

The Vedas contain the most complete storehouse of knowledge of gems, their description,

potencies and prescriptions for effective usage. The instructions on their uses and

prescriptions are found especially in the texts of the "Jyotish" and the "Guruda Purana."

They give detailed descriptions of the uses of gemstones as remedial measures to counter

imbalances in an astrological horoscope by the wearing of gems on the body, as well as the

Beudantite is named for the French mineralogist Francois S. Beudant.

Cancer

To create a Medicine Wheel using crystals, you will need 1 large crystal, 23 medium

crystals, and 12 small crystals.

Begin by marking out a Circle on the ground. Place the one large crystal in the center of

the Circle to represent the Earth. Take seven of the medium crystals and place them in a

circle around the large crystal. These will represent the Four Elements (Fire, Air, Earth

and Water) as well as Mother Earth, Father Sun and Grandmother Moon.

Next, by going counterclockwise, place a crystal at each of the four directions, on the

outside perimeter of the Circle.

Begin with the North and then West, South and the East.

Between each of the four directions place three more medium crystals along the perimeter

of the Circle or Spirit Keepers.

These represent the twelve Moons of the Medicine Wheel.

And last take three small crystals each and form a spoke jutting out from the Circle of

Libra, the Scales

Libra is the seventh sign of the Zodiac and associated with justice. Individuals born under

this sign are thought to have a pleasant, charming, charismatic, fair, highly intelligent,

idealistic, refined, and self-sufficient character, but one which is also prone to frivolity,

indecision, greed, anger, envy, excessive pride, cruelty, coldness, and isolation.

The Breastplate of the Hebrew High Priest

"And Aaron shall bear the names of the children of Israel in the breastplate of judgment

Capricorn, the Goat

Capricorn is one of the most stable and for the most part, serious of the zodiac signs. These

independent

characters have many solid qualities. They are normally confident, strong willed and calm.

They are hardworking, unemotional, shrewd, practical, responsible, persevering, and

cautious to the extreme, type persons, who are capable of persisting for as long as is

necessary to accomplish a goal they have set for themselves. They are reliable workers in

almost any profession they undertake.

Aquarius, the Water Bearer

Aquarians basically possess strong and attractive personalities. They fall into two principle

types: one shy, sensitive, gentle and patient; the other exuberant, lively and exhibitionist,

sometimes hiding the considerable depths of their character under a cloak of frivolity. Both

types are strong willed and forceful in their different

ways and have strong convictions, though as they seek truth above all things, they are

usually honest enough to change their opinions, however firmly held, if evidence comes to

light which persuades them that they have been mistaken.

They have a breadth of vision that brings diverse factors into a whole, and can see both

sides of an argument without shilly-shallying as to which side to take. Consequently they

are unprejudiced and tolerant of other points of view.

This is because they can see the validity of the argument, even if they do not accept it

They are nearly always intelligent, concise, clear and logical. Many are strongly

imaginative and psychically intuitive. Both types need to retire from the world at times and

The ruler of Pisces is Neptune.

Pisces, possess a gentle, patient, malleable nature. They have many generous qualities and
