the bold Diamond Pentagon grille. Strong lines are

and available attention-grabbing 20" alloy wheels,

the striking exterior of the MDX announces Precision

Designed to take the MDX to the next level, the available

A-SPEC package goes far beyond a premium badge.

Sport-inspired details elevate the MDX exterior, from the

striking 20-inch wheels, to larger and bolder exhaust finishers,

to an aggressive new front fascia. Gloss-black and dark

chrome accents adorn the headlights, grille, window surround

and rear tailgate spoiler to create an aesthetic that is equal

parts aggressive and elegant.

The cabin of the MDX is shaped by intelligent design,

refined style, and human-centered technology. Drivers

and passengers will be welcomed on board by soft

leather-trimmed seating with available elegant contrast

stitching and seat piping as well as natural handcrafted

noise reduction. The result is a spacious, elegant and

comfortable environment for an engaging trip.

The more athletic stance of the MDX A-SPEC houses

an equally bold interior. Red or ebony leather-trimmed

sport seats, eye-catching metal sports pedals, red ambient

lighting, and race-inspired paddle shifters round out the

sporty, stylish cockpit.

The lightest vehicle in its class,* the MDX is crafted from ultra high-strength steel,

aluminum and magnesium to reduce weight and increase rigidity. And less weight

equals more performance, which is why we cut every unnecessary ounce.

A G I L E H A N D L I N G A S S I S T

Agile Handling Assist uses active braking to aid in the accurate tracing of your

desired line through a turn. The system can brake individual wheels as needed,

effectively using brake torque-vectoring to directly control the vehicle’s rotation.

Working jointly with the Adaptive Damper System and Super Handling All-Wheel

Drive™2, the highly precise handling of the MDX was designed to feel more like

that of a sports sedan than a luxury SUV for seven.

A C T I V E D A M P E R S Y S T E M

Drive assured with the available Active Damper System, which is designed to

allow the MDX to remain soft and comfortable during highway cruising, yet firm

when the road requires high-performance handling. By acclimating suspension

responsiveness in a matter of milliseconds, the Active Damper System

strengthens the bond between driver and vehicle.

S U P E R H A N D L I N G A L L - W H E E L D R I V E™2

Super Handling All-Wheel Drive™ was designed to adapt to the driver for superb handling under virtually

any condition, and is standard on every MDX.

This innovative torque-vectoring system sends power to the wheels that need it most, distributing power

from front to back, or side to side on the rear wheels, helping to match driver input, weight distribution

and available traction. In a corner, the system sends up to 100 percent of the rear power to the outside wheel,

effectively rotating the vehicle and significantly enhancing manoeuvrability and control. This performance

technology helps to provide seamless power transitions and remarkable control—control that goes beyond

traction and forms a direct connection between driver and vehicle.

Cornering

When cornering on dry surfaces, up to 70 percent

of the torque is distributed to the rear. Torque

vectoring allows up to 100 percent of that power to

be distributed to the outside rear wheel, improving

control and helping to rotate the MDX through

the turn.

Lane Change

For increased stability during lane changes,

the SH-AWD® system is designed to transfer

power to the inside rear wheel.

Slippery Road

Under slick conditions, SH-AWD® is designed

to actively send power to the wheel with the

most traction.

Highway Cruise

To help with fuel efficiency, up to 90 percent

of the power is sent to the front wheels when

cruising in a straight line.

A c u r a W a t c h™

AcuraWatch™ combines a network of next-

level sensing technologies designed to increase

awareness and support the driver, working to

help mitigate and in some cases even avoid

impacts. Sensors are designed to continuously

monitor the vehicle’s surroundings and can

recognize not only vehicles, but also the shapes

of motorcyclists and pedestrians—even certain-

shaped shrubbery and mailboxes. AcuraWatch™

can warn of potential threats, provide steering

input to help keep you in the centre of a

detected lane, apply brake pressure to help

maintain a set interval from the vehicle

detected directly ahead, and emergency-brake

in some cases to help avoid or mitigate the

risks of frontal collisions.

In addition, the available surround view camera

system2 gives you a 360-degree view of the

space around the MDX.* With six unique

camera views, parking sensor information and

dynamic guidelines that show your expected

The safest collision is the one you avoid. That’s reason enough to consider the high-performance

MDX with standard AcuraWatch™ advanced safety and driver-assistance technology. However,

some accidents are unavoidable. That’s why Acura’s next-generation Advanced Compatibility

Engineering™ (ACE™) body structure was designed to absorb and disperse frontal impact energy

more evenly around the vehicle, so less of it transfers to what really matters: the vehicle’s occupants.

Moreover, frontal crash compatibility is designed into the structure, so in the event of a collision

with a smaller or larger vehicle, the occupants of both vehicles, not just those in the Acura, are

better protected. But we didn’t stop there. We innovated the structure around the doors, making

them four to five times stronger than traditional-grade automotive steel, through laser welding,

hot stamping, and the use of ultra-high-strength steel, all to improve cabin strength and help

to reduce the effects of an impact.
