INSPIRATIONAL STORY "When you judge another, you do not define them, you define yourself." - Wayne Dyer THE WINDOW THROUGH WHICH WE LOOK A young couple moved into a new neighbourhood. The next morning while they were eating breakfast, the young woman saw her neighbour hanging the washing outside on the washing line. "That laundry is not very clean", she said to her husband. "She doesn't know how to wash correctly. Perhaps she needs better laundry powder." Her husband looked on, but remained silent. From then on, every time her neighbour would hang her washing out to dry, the young woman would make the same comments. About one month later, the woman was surprised to see nice clean washing on the line and said to her husband:"Look, she has finally learned how to do her washing properly. I wonder who taught her this." The husband said, "I got up early this morning and cleaned our windows." REFLECTION: And so it is with life. What we see when watching others depends on the window through which we look. Often when we judge others it says more about ourselves than those who we are judging. If we do not wish to be judged by others then we should not make judgements about others. Can you think of a time when you judged someone and then realised that you had judged them wrongly? How did this make you feel? Can you think of a time when others judged you harshly? How did this make you feel?

THE WINDOW THROUGH WHICH WE LOOK

A young couple moved into a new neighbourhood.

The next morning while they were eating breakfast, the young woman saw her neighbour hanging the washing outside on the washing line.

"That laundry is not very clean", she said to her husband. "She doesn't know how to wash correctly. Perhaps she needs better laundry powder."

Her husband looked on, but remained silent.

From then on, every time her neighbour would hang her washing out to dry, the young woman would make the same comments.

About one month later, the woman was surprised to see nice clean washing on the line and said to her husband:"Look, she has finally learned how to do her washing properly. I wonder who taught her this."

The husband said, "I got up early this morning and cleaned our windows."
