ONE MORE STEP

As a group of churches we are on a journey. It is a journey which

is leading in the next 6 months to a union of three churches and then

a linking with a further two churches, but it is also a journey of exploring

what it means to be church in 2014 and developing a vision and a plan

for the next five years.

As with every journey, we can only move forward one step at a

time, so we are encouraging each and every one of us to take

ONE MORE STEP.

ONE MORE STEP towards corporate and individual spiritual

growth & maturity

ONE MORE STEP in everyone using their talents in the life & work

of our church

ONE MORE STEP as we each review our financial commitment

to God’s work

ONE MORE STEP along the journey for our extended parish

ONE MORE STEP for shaping our vision and five year plan

ONE MORE STEP JUST ONE STEP AT A TIME, BUT MOVING

FORWARDS TOGETHER WITH OUR GOD.

We are planning a ONE MORE STEP weekend.

LETTER FROM THE MANSE

Dear all,

Firstly, my sincere apologies for the delay in this edition of the Newsletter.

It’s a long story, too long to tell. We will do better next time.

These are exciting days for our congregations as we move toward the

union on 1st January. I do hope you will be able to join us for the service

of union in Edrom on 11th January.

Within the next few weeks we will welcome Rev Jeff Martin and

his family. Jeff is relocating from USA to Scotland, and from the

Presbyterian Church of USA to the Church of Scotland. Before he

can apply for a vacant charge in Scotland, Jeff is required to serve a

placement under the supervision of an existing parish minister. He will

do this as my assistant and will be with us for the best part of a year.

I know you will give the whole family a very warm Borders welcome!

Remembrance, Advent, Christmas and New Year will keep us all busy

over the coming months. I wish you and yours every blessing, Stephen.
