Concept

The exhibition concept derives from one of the fashion industry's most heated debates. The exhibition marks a turning point in the tumultuous debate over the complex relationship between fashion and art, by moving away from the widely accepted belief that fashion and art exist as two separate constructs and showcasing the two concepts as a hybrid notion.

The exhibition features 10 of the most influential fashion creatives along with their equally inspiring artists.

Terry Richardon and Supreme ClothingThis on-going since 2008 collaboration between the provocative photographer Terry Richardson, reigning streetwear brand Supeme Clothing and a certain chartreuse muppet Kermit has created a cool clothing and image collection.

Donatella Versace and Tim RoelofDutch collage artist Tim Roelof joined artistic flare with Donatella Versace to design a set of dresses for Versace's Autumn/Winter '08 collection.

Nick Knight and Rith HogbenFashion Photographer and SHOWstudio director Nick Knight teamed up with filmaker Ruth Hogben to conjured a macabre phantasmagoria that unfurls before your eyes like a sinister but beautiful bloom. The four minute video, 'Insensate', showcases the brutal geometry and raw creative fire of Gareth Pugh's A/W 2008 collection to truly bewitching effect. The video is set to a thundering, atmospheric soundtrack specially devised by artist Matthew Stone.

DVF and Andy WarholIn conjunction with the Andy Warhol Foundation, Diane Von Furstenberg channels Andy Warhol's origional atwork into the DVF swimwear collection. Miuccia Prada and James JeanFor her enchanting spring collection the allusive Prada collaborated with the Los Angeles-based illustrator James Jean to create more than 100 pieces. The promotions featured in every fashion magazine around and here on display are two of those images.

Kate Moss and Marc QuinnQuinn chose Moss because of her ambiguous place in our culture: a creature who is admired and observed obsessively, but about whom we have little real knowledge. The solid gold statue worth £1.5million has toured the country before finding its way to this exhibition.

Christoper Kane and Opening CeremonyRetail giant Opening Ceremony brings together emerging American talent with both young and established designers and artists from abroad. Kane designed a five piece collection sourcing imagery fom the UK's Ministry of Defence website of test explosions from the 50's to 70's.

Issey Miyake and Aya TakanoThe japanese pop artist associated with the Superflat movement Aya Takano enthused Miyake to design a rain wear line to feature in his Autumn/Winter 2004/05 collection.

Viktor and Rolf and Studio JobDutch artists Studio Job designed the scenography for the Spring/Summer 2010 show by fashion duo Viktor & Rolf. A huge globe covered in rhinestones rotated on one side of the stage, while singer Roisin Murphy stood on a giant speaker at the other.
