This forum will showcase inspiring Aboriginal women committed to making a difference in the world through their service and work in the community towards the betterment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. The panel’s stories of leadership and making an impact will inspire emerging and existing leaders and demonstrate how these incredible Aboriginal women are making their influence. Karina Lester - Advocate in revival and maintenance of Aboriginal languages of South Australia and reclamation programs; April Lawrie - Commissioner for Aboriginal Children and Young People, South Australia; Kerrynne Liddle - Business Leader and Journalist for Public Affairs; Yaritji Young - Established Award-winning artist from APY Lands; Vicky Welgraven - Advocate for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health and Wellbeing; Kirstie Parker - Director of Aboriginal Affairs and Reconciliation – SA Government; Rosemary Wanganeen - Griefologist and Founder of the Australian Institute for Loss and Grief. Country Arts SA presents a new exhibition honouring the untold stories of South Australian Aboriginal veterans of the Vietnam War, before, during and after. The exhibition features works by a selected group of contemporary Aboriginal artists who were paired with these veterans to create multidisciplinary artworks inspired by their memories. Artists include Allan Collins, Brad Darkson, Beaver Lennon, Hayley Millar-Baker, Clem Newchurch, Lavene Ngatokoura, Sandra Saunders, Damien Shen, Major Sumner AM, James Tylor, Tony Wilson and Raymond Zada.
