When a graphic designer creates an image it has to be creative, catch the
viewers eye, project a message clearly, and be cost effective. In this activity we are going to try to project a theme that
follows these key points.
To produce a collage that: Follows one theme (entertainment,
technology, or peace/freedom) Shows creativity Is cost effective
Requirements : You can only use the materials provided. Must follow ”Challenge” steps Must complete all related “Process”
paperwork Collage must be 8 ½ X 11’’ and class
room appropriate.
Use” Activity Sheet” to complete steps Step One: Pick your theme (Entertainment,
Technology, or Peace/Freedom) Step Two: Brainstorm 3 Idea sketches of
your collage relating to your theme. Step Three: Pick some magazines from the
pile to cut and paste pictures or words to create your collage related to your brainstorm sketches and theme.
Step Four: a two paragraph reflection on what you liked and what you would change on your collage.
