• Curt Bender, USTA Chair & ITF Committee Member– Curt was selected to represent the US by serving a

two year term on the ITF Wheelchair Tennis Committee for 2012-2013.

Subcommittee Report

Grassroots Grants• Since 2008 the USTA has given nearly $150,00 in grants

to programs all across the country• In 2011 – the USTA had over $103,000 in requests and

granted $50,000 to 16 programs• In 2012 – the USTA will deliver another $50,000 in grants

Local Programs growing the game

• Camp, clinics, coaching, new wheelchairs, balls, portable teaching carts, indoor court time, up/down events, exhibitions, new tournaments, traveling costs, portable nets, foam balls, new racquets, fliers, banners and signage, mixers and more.

SPRING MEETING 2012

• The wheelchair exhibition during the Section Showdown was a huge success with several USTA leaders trying out tennis in a wheelchair.

• A wheelchair was donated by Fifteen Degrees and raffled off to a section with the winner being a very excited Hawaii Pacific section.
