Micro-tunnel Boring

In August, boring of the .75-mile (1.2-km) micro-tunnel began at the shore crossing. Micro-tunnelling is being used to bring the 44-inch trunk line ashore.

Inside the micro-tunnel launch pit, workers complete a push of the concrete jacking pipes. More than 400 pipes are pushed together to provide a conduit to pull the trunk line.

Construction works at the LNG plant site are progressing, with key areas now taking shape.

At the LNG plant site, fill is being brought from nearby borrow pits to raise the site level and piling is underway for the foundations of LNG Train 1.

LNG Plant Site Foundations

Piling for the foundations of LNG Train 1 nears completion as construction of the refrigeration compressor foundation commences. More than 4,000 piles have been installed on site to date.

At the Material Offloading Facility (MOF), the east quay piling platform and rock works for the temporary jetty are both complete.

Installation of the abutment wall for the Product Loading Facility (PLF) is underway. The wall will anchor the shore end of the PLF.

Platform Construction

At the DSME shipyard in Okpo, Korea, the intermediate deck is now fully installed and erection of the top deck has commenced.

With the first phases complete, more than 3,000 workers are now housed onsite.
