MTD Calculation (Rounding issue)

Check with LHDN officer confirmed that the Estimated Taxable Yearly Ordinary & Additional Wages (P) value should always be

rounded down to get the correct Total Yearly Income (M).

EXAMPLE

Prior to the enhancement, if Estimated Taxable Yearly Ordinary & Additional Wages (P) was 35000.02, the value would be rounded

up to 35001.00 and resulted in Total Yearly Income (M) being applied at 35,000.00 bracket which is a level higher.

With the enhancement made, the Estimated Taxable Yearly Ordinary & Additional Wages (P) will now be rounded down as 35000.00

and Total Yearly Income (M) will be applied at 20,000.00 bracket.

Appended below is another sample screen displaying P amount as 70,000.06. It will be rounded down to 70,000.00 and Total Yearly

Income (M) will be at 50,000.00.

Malaysia LDHN EA FORM 2016

LHDN Malaysia officially announced the new EA Form format in January 2017. In line with the changes required in the new EA form,

we had enhanced 2 fields for user to key in and update to the EA Form accordingly:

Malaysia NEW Income Tax Relief and Rebate

There will be additional 3 types of income tax relief update in Sage Payroll:

a. Lifestyle (readings, computer/smartphone, sport equipment/gymnasium membership and

subscription of broadband internet) [limited to RM2500 per year]

b. Purchase of Breastfeeding Equipment (Deduction is allowed once every 2 years for woman tax payer

only) [limited to RM1000 per year]

c. Fees paid to Child Care Centre and Kindergartens [limited to RM1000 per year]

These 3 income tax relief are available under:

Housekeeping > Setup > Government > Tax Relief Table > TR0032, TR0033 and TR0034

Socso Borang 2 (Joined) 2016 format is now available in Sage Payroll.

Please note that we are currently working on the following form enhancement:

a. 2016 version of Form EA

b. 2016 version of Form EC

c. 2016 version of Form CP.8D

Expected target date of delivery for these enhancements will be on February 2017 Online Update schedule.

Issue : SG license always have the “Payroll License Upgrade” message prompted after OU to Sage Payroll 9.9.3.0

Resolve : After OU to Sage Payroll 9.9.3.1, the message “Payroll License Upgrade” will not be prompted any more for SG license.
