Free Thursday Evening Lectures Local Meat Produce Brazilian Style Gluten Free Buns Spinach & Onion, Flaxseed & Almond, Black Olive 340g •Your petitions, letters and voices helped delay the release of GM Alfalfa • MP Craig Scott presented our many petition signatures in the House of Commons regarding GM Alfalfa and the Save our Seeds Campaign. •We sponsored the Guelph Organic Conference, COG- Toronto Conference, Ecological Farmers of Ontario Conference, Foodshare’s Recipe for Change, The Brewers Plate, Farmstart McVean Farm Family Picnic, Organic Week, Black Creek Community Farm Festival, Ciderfest, Riverdale Share Concert and through our community giving, we donated over $80,000 to many of our local community schools, shelters and centres. • The Big Carrot’s first Nature’s Finest Fund grants helped support 5 local Ontario farmers including Sosnicki Organics, Tansy Farms, Kind Organics, Nature’s Way and Field Sparrow Farms • We donated 100% of our plastic carry bag revenues amounting to $15,000 to the Friends of The Don East and we helped plant trees in the Don Valley for Earth Day. •In September, we travelled to Parliament Hill to meet with MP Murray Rankin as part of COTA’s Organic Week Advocacy. Mr. Rankin has a motion in the House of Commons calling for the mandatory labeling of genetically modified foods.
