THE PRESIDENT'S DESK

Dear Fellow Members,

In the beginning we remember a tipsy old barn,a once proud Victorian ranch house, an afterthoughtstructure laden with dust and. strewn with saddles, reins and ranch gear, a hunkhouse for departed cow-boys long dispossessed, by clucking hens and otherfarm-yard animals. \Ve remember an old windmillnoiu overgrown by sturdy, beautiful wisteria, and werecall the sometimes muddy, always dusty roadsleading to this depository for all hinds of dchris.

This was the scene to greet our first members. Hutsomething rather strange, and wonderful began tohappen from the very start. Our families shared ourdream and were ready and willing to extend thenecessary helping hand of invitations to friends, neighbors and associates, from this humble begin-ning we. received stimulation and help on all sides tomold the character and set. the pattern for the futureof our participation together. Yet the job is never-ending. Families move away, circumstances alter andthe passage of time decimates.

Thus we. continue to seek your aid. New friendsare made in an expanding circle. If you like them,'tie. all will, so retell our dreams and aspirations in a\Ontintling search for those who mill help us all tomemorialize a companionable, neighborly, helpful'way of life.' Keep our mainstream pulsating withrenewed energy—use your right to sponsor!

Currently tve are a little proud. Our (lolf Courseis playable and awaiting your pleasure. Our ownRancho Sierra Construction Company is buildingmany new Ranch Judges for memorable vacationperiods with all new lodges typifying the finest intraditional western architecture. Just, in the last fewyears we've added measurably to our entire facility, nor is our promise to you ever out of mint! that withyour continued fine support we can all biiilil togetherone of America's finest all-purpose recreational Clubs. With our present, assurance of Feather River waterjust around the corner we may all plan for a greatermore abundant future than ever before in our history.

Finally, may I extend to one. and all the warm per-sonal regard fell by the Board of Directors, theirfamilies and myself for the dedication and loyaltyshown our Club throughout the period of yourmembership.

WHAT'S NEWAT

LAKE ELIZABETH

We are pleased to report that the latest infor-mation with regard to the Feather RiverProject, indicated that water should be deliv-ered to our area by 1970-71. This is greatnews for all of us as many of our futureprojects and development are dependentupon an excess amount of water.

San Franciscito Expressway, soon to open!Where have we heard that before-? We havebeen assured by the Hughes-Elizabeth Cham-ber of Commerce that this long awaitedproject will be completed by late 1968.

Plans are in the making for opening a Skeetand Trap range this spring. Instruction in theproper use of firearms will be made a part ofthe program and strict enforcement of allrules will be bbserved. All members that areinterested in this program should leave theirnames at the clubhouse in order that ade-quate facilities can be planned.
