What makes education in Finland that good?

According to the text, one of the main points related to education it would be the way of how the process of learning is not a matter that involves only students, but also a task from the teachers. In contrast, in our country it is a matter to obtain a good mark and been qualified trough an exam rather than learn from it and develop other major skills.

Another issue to point out is the teacher’s commitment with the students, in Chile education is a matter of business, on how much it costs to teach to somebody. Furthermore, from that point of view, it is remarkable that teachers are been testing in order to improve their professional skills, or been able to broaden new ideas into the classroom or even to focus on teaching and learning; however, in Chile this perspective is quite different most of the teachers follows a type of curricula and maintain the typical setting of a normal classroom, they are not willing to change their methods or use more didactics ways of teaching, which in practice result to be more interesting.

Finally, since a few years, Chile has been coping with different strikes from secondary schools and universities, the main factor it is to allow Chilean’s students been educated in a free educational system; in other words that the government provides free education for all. Nonetheless, students are really aware that education is very distinct from other countries, as in this case Finland’s system, the government has a major role with schools, because they firmly believe that education is the key to enter to a competitive world taking into account the student’s needs .
