TACTICS FOR TIME TRAVEL IN A TOILETFriday 26th January, 8pmTickets £10 (Proceeds to Rainbow project)

A place to hide. A place to feel. A place to love. A place to time travel!

The toilet cubicle lock flicks from VACANT to ENGAGED, and four teenagers escape out of time and space. There is no fixed past or present, but there can only be one future. The possibilities are not limitless. Which future should they choose?

Belfast’s own queer performance company celebrates its tenth anniversary with a startling new production. Combining technology, music, and design, TheatreofplucK’s latest show dispels the myths of the documented past and presents a radical vision of our future. Politics is personal in this poetic production with a radical, immersive staging.

ON THE ROAD AGAINFriday 12th January, 7.30pmTickets £5

A group of men of a certain age- some ex-musicians, some still musicians, some never musicians- get together to reminisce, play some songs, exchange stories about what they like and have liked in the past decades.

The group will explore the songs when they were first heard and the events in the world at that time... with particular focus on the little area of the North West of Ireland where we all live.

Dyad Productions presents

THE TIME MACHINESunday 11th February 8pmTickets £12/£10 (includes £1 development contribution)

From the creators of Christmas Gothic, Dalloway and Austen’s Women. In this new age of uncertainty, where the shadows of tyranny, intolerance and war darken the narrative of human progress, how much time do we have left? If civilisation fell today, what would become of us? In producer Rebecca Vaughan and writer/director Elton Townend Jones’ new and radical interpretation of the HG Wells

classic, a Victorian explorer travels across the ages into tomorrow and beyond: from the fall of man to the end of the world, discovering the fate of our endeavours and uncovering our darkest fears. Setting the Darwinist politics of the original novella in sharp relief against our own experience of Western decline in the early 21st century, The Time Machine is a philosophical journey, a cautionary tale – and the story of us.

THE BOG COUPLE by Liam Campbell Tuesday 13th to Saturday 17th February, 8pm, Matinee performance 3pm Sunday 18th February Tickets £10 (opening night offer all tickets £5) (includes £1 development contribution)

Directed by Kieran Griffiths

“They partitioned Ireland in 1921 didn’t they? Well I’m partitioning this flat in 1976!”

Fate and a couple of failed marriages have crashed two men together under the same roof in the Rossville Flats in the midst of The Troubles - in what can only be described as the mismatch of the century.

Inspired by Neil Simon’s classic script ‘The Odd Couple’, this brand new laugh out loud comedy follows Oscar Meenan and Felix Young– both “Bogside men” - one a Catholic and one a Protestant; one is an easy-going slob and one an obsessive perfectionist preoccupied with neatness.

Join them in the Bogside in 1976 to find out if true friendship can overcome all in this riotous study in bitter-sweet disharmony.

THE COARSE ACTING SHOWFriday 27th April, 8pmTickets £10/£7 Age 14+

The Pratfall Collegium Dramatics Society are an amateur group on the verge of becoming theatre professionals. They have it all; lights, sound, a set, and, more importantly, the correct number of cast members. All they lack however, is the ability to pull it off. Sets will collapse, or not appear at all. Sound cues blare at any moment. Lights fail to illuminate the right spot, or indeed any. Lines will be dropped and picked up again thirty pages later, and some actors may not even appear in the right place, or even at the right time. Some actors do not even appear at all…Based on the disastrous workings of the fictional Pratfall Collegium Dramatics Society, ‘The Course Acting Show’ is a crash course on how NOT to do theatre. Performed by Bard Theatre, a collection of local emerging performers.

THE MONK, THE BIRD AND THE PRIESTby Liam Campbell Wednesday 16th- Saturday 19th May, 8pmTickets £10 (includes £1 development contribution)

Directed by Kieran Griffiths

Set in the 1950s, The Monk, The Bird and the Priest tells the story of life, education, mercy and malice in a Catholic Boys’ College in Ireland. For some of the pupils their schooldays are the making of them, for others they are a living and crushing hell. For the established order of the ecclesiastical teaching staff, the chief tormenter of whom is nicknamed The Bird, no humiliation, no beating, no mental torture is too savage in the righteous shaping of their wards. But for one principled priest, Father Jude Connolly, every day presents an opportunity to offer a resistance against the ruthless and established regime, and a chance to shine a little Grace and replenishing light into the lives of these Catholic boys.

Based upon the first-hand accounts and real-life experiences of former pupils, this dramatic exploration of life in a Northing Irish Catholic College in the fifties is by turn, moving, harrowing, inspiring and bejewelled with moments of dark comedy. This original new work is a must see.

THE MERRY WIVES OF WINDSORWednesday 12th September, 7pmTickets £11 (includes £1 development contribution)

Set in a world very like our own, this Romeo and Juliet is about a generation of young people born into violence and ripped apart by the bitter divisions of their parents. The most famous story of love at first sight explodes with intense passion and an irresistible desire for change, but leads all too quickly to heartbreaking conse-quences.

Down on his luck in the suburbs, John Falstaff plans to hustle his way to a comfortable retire-ment by seducing the wives of two wealthy men.

Unknown to him, it’s the women of Windsor who really pull the strings, orchestrating Falstaff’s comeuppance amidst a theatrical smorgasbord of petty rivalries, jealousies and over-inflated egos.

CHROMO-HYDROCULTURE Thursday 15th- Tuesday 20th February

Aislinn Cassidy is a local artist from Derry, a for-mer graduate in Microbiology and teacher now in the final year of her BA Fine Art at Ulster Univer-sity. She uses a broad range of approaches in her work focusing mainly on Installation, Video art, and Photography. She enjoys taking advantage of her scientific knowledge for artistic expression and is enthusiastic about bringing Science and Art together in her work. When exploring differ-ent media and techniques, she combines scien-tific experimentation with creative aesthetics, often with the inclusion of contradictory visual and/or aural elements. This contradiction reflects her own awareness of the beauty and brutality

of nature, and her response and interpretation to life experience, her observations and poetry. Her work; having scientific, artistic, and poetic value, offers viewers a multiplicity of interpretation and an opportunity to reflect upon the beauty and wonder of nature.

This exhibition showcases Aislinn’s experimental artworks that link Plant Biology, Chemistry and Art. It will explore visually and scientifically hy-droponics and fluid uptake in flowers and plants.
