and Powerpoint
• E-mail and / or sharepoint based
collaboration in a word document
• Labour intensive, inefficient
process

Free Form Cubes
• A new cube type as part of the new Enterprise license
• Cubes in PBCS have historically required dimensions
– Account, Entity, Scenario, Version, Year & Period
– Whilst this is mostly good it can be limiting (eg. Year and Period in separate dimensions, Scenario and Version in
separate dimensions)
• Enter the new Free Form Cube format
• Available as either Hybrid/BSO or ASO
• Option to Import Essbase outlines – great for Essbase migrations
• Build models from excel templates is coming (Q3 CY 2020)
• 1 cube for now per App – more coming (Q4 CY 2020)
February 20, 2020 14
• Validate Data on Entry
• Save time by ensuring better data
quality
• Calculate only the rows updated

• Many if you are relying extensively on Smartview to generate
critical report pakcs
• Large workbooks with multiple Smartview retrieve sheets
• Refreshing All Worksheets is obviously important
• Add an Account called Last Retrieved date, include into each of the
retrieve sheets and can then have a control sheet to ensure all
sheets have been retrieved on

Budget Adjustment Tracking (Update Budget Scenarios, Solution Will Track Changes)
• Ability to track budget adjustments as a calculated amount between current budget and
previous budget using an Adjustment Tracking Version.
• To enable this functionality we will do the following:
• Each Adjustment Budget will be tagged with a User Defined Attribute (UDA)
called “Adjust”
• It is important that we order our Budgets as follows in the hierarchy as each
scenario tagged with UDA: Adjust will be compare to its Left Sibling as shown
below
• Locked_Budgets
• Budget2019
• Budget2019_Initial
• Budget2019_Adj1 (UDA: Adjust)
• Budget2019_Adj2 (UDA: Adjust)
• Budget2019_Adj3 (UDA: Adjust)
• Budget2019_Adj4 (UDA: Adjust)
• Commentary will remain against each budget scenario; commentary entry against the
adjustment version will not be possible.
