MEMBER SATISFACTION IS IMPORTANT
T he season is under way, and it is nice to see all of our friends back with smiles .
There are many new smiling faces, too. We hope that means they are happy at
their new club. Please pass by with a grin or stop to introduce yourself whenever
you see a new face.
We do want member satisfaction to remain, and when the office (as well as the golf
shop) hears complaints over golf etiquette or directives to help maintain
good course conditions, specifically keeping carts on paths when the
course is wet, it is imperative to remind all members that everyone
must abide by them. Nobody should believe they can do it because
they “know what they’re doing.” The rules apply to all members.
They are there to keep the course nice for everyone’s enjoyment.
The Friday Night Couples Golf has officially begun! Don’t miss
these fun golf events for couples who both play, or for those who do
not, but would like to start. This is an easy and fun way to learn the
game. Then stay after for a wonderful buffet on the front deck or in-
side. The dinners are not just for the golfers. They are open to all
members. Just give us a call/email to let us know if you’ll be coming
for dinner. 317.872.3387/[email protected]

You can see Cliff outdoors many times, especially on weekends. Whether indoors or outdoors, Cliff has an array of menu items that entice members’ appetites as they make the turn, before teeing off, or after finishing 9 or eighteen.

From the Manager
L ast Tuesday, May 28, we deep tine aerified the greens.
This process uses a solid 1/2” tine and penetrates a
good 9”down in the green, which is then filled up with
topdressing sand. The channel allows the roots to easily grow
into and much deeper. This will help when the dog days of
summer come. Deeper roots=stronger plants.
Well, it’s official! I’m tired of rain and a soaking wet golf
course! So far this year we have had 18.88” of rain! That’s
nearly half of our yearly total for this area. Let’s all hope this
pattern changes and soon!
Thanks for your patience and understanding for the wet ar-
eas on the course that we have not been able to mow. We will
get mowers in those spots as soon as they dry out.
See you on the course.
Your superintendent,
I hope this reaches everyone in good health and spirits!
Hopefully you had a happy and safe Memorial Day
weekend with your family. I greatly appreciate every-
one’s patience with the weather we have been experiencing. I
know it is frustrating for you, but it’s just as frustrating for the
staff. We want the course to be in the best shape possible, but
mother nature has not let that happen.
The month of June brings many events for everyone to en-
joy. Please check the calendar and the website to keep in-
formed on upcoming events. A few events happening in June:
Junior Golf, Couples Golf, and ladies’ and men’s events. The
very popular Friday night Couples Golf is every Friday at
5:30 p.m. through Labor Day weekend. Once again this year
Chef Cliff will be preparing a delicious dinner buffet every
week. The menu for each week will be posted on the club’s
homepage of the website. We will also be serving dinner on
Wednesday nights starting June 5. We will have the normal
menu available.
The golf course staff has done a great job keeping the
course in great shape. Please thank anyone on the staff for all
the hard work they do on your course. Every spring the rough
is thick and healthy. We mow the rough at the height of 2 1/2”
all year long. Please do your part to help the staff out by fix-
ing ballmarks, replacing divots and using proper cart etiquette.
I would like to welcome all of our new members to Twin
Lakes Golf Club and thank their sponsors for their support.
Please pass along our membership promotion to any potential
new members to ensure they take advantage of a great value.
Remember we are open for lunch Tuesday through Sunday
and for dinner Wednesday and Fridays through the season.
As always, please let me know if I can be of any assistance
with anything. I look forward to seeing you out enjoying your
club!

Member Jim Dahl caught this snapping turtle on the cart path
near the gold tees on first hole. Be sure to stop and look around
you when playing and notice what nature can offer.
From the Pro
Golf Shop Staff
Golf Shop News Another month has gone by and Mother Nature was relentless
to us in May. Lots of rainy days, golf cars on paths, closed
driving range and really long rough. We hope that the month
of June is a little kinder to us. We had a couple of events in
the Men’s and Women’s schedules and one cancellation.
Thanks to everyone who has stood strong through the bad
weather and continues to come out and participate.

Thanks to all of you members that have been so patient with
our course conditions this year. We appreciate the desire to
keep the course in good shape and to keep all 4 wheels on the
cart path when we are cart path only. Our new scorecards are
in and the Ladies Orange tee yardages and ratings are now
located on the scorecards. Also, the ladies orange tees have
been approved and can now be posted from on iGolf.
5 Tips to Shooting Your Best Scores 1. Reliable, repeatable swing and ball flight. A golf swing is
as unique as a person’s fingerprint. You don’t need to
swing like a tour professional, or hit the ball perfectly
straight. Find a swing that you can repeat and then play
the ball flight that the swing produces.
2. No need to be a hero Most golfers out there do not have
the ability to hit a 30 yard fade, low stinger, or big draw
on command. In order to consistently lower your scores,
understand your skill level on certain shots and play for
safer misses.
3. Wedge your way forward This ties in to the previous tip.
Trust the wedges in your bag. Instead of trying for the
hero shot just put the ball back into the fairway and try to
get a wedge in your hand. The wedges are the shortest
clubs in your bag and therefore are the easiest ones to be
consistent with.
4. Putting to save strokes You have a 30 ft downhill putt that
breaks quite a bit for par. You really want that par and end
up missing and leaving yourself a 5 ft putt coming back
and end up missing that too. Now you have added strokes
by being too aggressive. Minimize your 3 putts by simply
making good putts instead of trying aggressively to make
every putt.
5. Deal with adversity Adversity is going to happen on a
golf course. Bad shots, bad lies, bad bounces, ball hops on
the greens, it’s all going to happen. This can cause a
golfer to try to press their game for good scores and end
up worse off. Simply put….don’t compound mistakes,
take your medicine, there’s tons of phrases that qualify. If
you can utilize these 5 tips out on the golf course you will
see your scores drop consistently over time!
