Kids Club is cancelled so families may lead their children in the communion service. We will continue collecting themed items each month for OCC. For the month of August, we will be receiving crayons, pencil sharpeners, soap, washcloths, and tooth- brushes. OCC National Collection week is November 1623. More than 10.5 million boxes were given in 2019. Please support this outreach to boys & girls around the world with your shoebox gifts & prayers. They need groups to continue to give to fund the ingredients as well as to come and pack. Please consider how you might be involved. For more information, please contact Nick Cunningham at 304-425-7120. AS MORE OF OUR CHURCH FAMILY RETURNS - to our in-person meetings, the Auditorium is becoming more crowded. We have overflow seating available in the Fellowship Hall so everyone can meet in the building while continuing to social distance. We will continue cleaning and sanitizing between services as well. If you do not have a face covering, masks are available at the Welcome Center. If you are 65+, considered high-risk, or are a caretaker for high-risk individuals, we encourage you to attend our 8:30 a.m. service. For those who wish to continue attending in the parking lot or at home, our services will still be available by radio via 93.5 FM or online via live streaming on Facebook, YouTube, and johnstonchapel.org. OUR AUGUST MISSIONS OFFERING - on Sunday, August 16th, will go toward our Operation Christmas Child packing party and shipping costs. Our packing party is tentatively set for Sunday, October 4th. For safety, the elements will be individually wrapped and placed in the holder on the back of each pew. A Benevolent Fund Offering will be received. It is administered by the Pastors and Deacons to care for needs within the church family. Please use a Special Offering Envelope and mark it Benevolent.TIME TO MOVE UP! - next Sunday will be our move-up day for the children and youth ministries. Please see Pastor Jason, Pastor James, or Janey Patton to learn more about where your child will go for the 2020-2021 year. D.M.A. FELLOWSHIP EVENTS - We will enjoy a picnic on Thursday, August 13th at 6:00 p.m. at the church pavilion. Please bring a covered dish meal to share. Tableware, drinks, etc. will be provided and the meal will be served with volunteers wearing facemasks and gloves. Tables & chairs will be setup for social distancing. Note: If you are not comfortable sharing this meal, please bring your own meal and enjoy this evening of fellowship. The Garrett sisters, also known as 34Adonai, will bring a program of music. All senior adults age 55+ are invited to attend. D.M.A. Fellowship will go to the Wohlfahrt Haus Dinner Theater on Friday, September 11th, to see How Sweet the Sound. Cost is $47 per per- son. Our bus will depart from church at 11:30 a.m. Please see Jim Nofsinger with your payment by Thursday to reserve your place.
