Numeracy: This term in Numeracy we will be consolidating the ‘basics’ learnt in Year 3 as well as learning new topics such as place value, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, handling data, measures, time and problem solving. The maths homework given always links to the topic being studied. R.E. The children do RE every Wednesday morning with Mrs Golding. The focus topics for this term are: The Local Church, Eucharist, Lent and Easter. Science: In Science we cover a different topic each half term. This term we have started off looking at ‘Solids, liquids & how they can be separated.’ We will then be going on to look at ‘Keeping warm’ after half term. We enjoy carrying out and learning through different types of experiments relating to our science topics. A Creative Curriculum Did you know that children learn best when their learning is linked? This is why we will be learning all about Chembakolli ‘A Village in India’ through lots of different subjects. ICT: We will be using ICT to carry out research on our topic. History: In history we are focusing on life in Chembakolli, looking at where it is and what life is like there compared to where we live. Art & DT: We have been looking at Rangoli patterns and using paint to imitate images of village life in Chembakolli.
