WE ARE EXCITED!!! VESTIBULE RENOVATION PROJECT The St. Bartholomew Church Vestibule Renovation Project was launched in May 2015 with a series of meetings with our various church ministries to identify current uses and then desired future uses for the vestibule (narthex). The attendees shared how their ministry utilizes the church vestibule and shared ideas for revitalizing the area to meet their needs. The Vestibule Committee compiled the critical needs and presented an overview of the objectives to the Pastor and Parish Council with the purpose of approving some funding to hire an architect and general contractor. Communication also occurred with the Archdiocesan Office as there are certain requirements for contracts with the general contractors and architects that may be engaged in the project. The Vestibule Committee also visited several local churches who had recently upgraded their vestibules. After meeting with several architectural firms, Chameleon Architecture, led by architect Chip Williamson, was chosen to lead the team to create the design for the project. (You can visit his website at www.chameleonarchitecture.com and see some of their projects like those pictured here.) He is excited to begin the project and believes our vestibule has “good bones”. Chip’s team believes that everyone who will be served by the architectural design should be invited into the process. He knows that different people with different abilities, different needs, different goals, and with different budgets need architects with something more than cookie-cutter solutions. What we have... WE ARE EXCITED!!!

VESTIBULE RENOVATION PROJECT

The St. Bartholomew Church Vestibule Renovation Project was

launched in May 2015 with a series of meetings with our various church ministries to identify current uses and then desired future uses for the vestibule (narthex). The attendees shared how their

ministry utilizes the church vestibule and shared ideas for revitalizing the area to meet their needs. The Vestibule Committee

compiled the critical needs and presented an overview of the objectives to the Pastor

and Parish Council with the purpose of approving some funding to hire an architect and general

contractor. Communication also occurred with the Archdiocesan Office as there are certain requirements for contracts with the general

contractors and architects that may be engaged in the project. The Vestibule Committee also visited several local churches who had recently upgraded

their vestibules.

After meeting with several architectural firms, Chameleon Architecture, led by architect Chip Williamson, was chosen to lead the team to create the design for the project. (You can visit his website

at www.chameleonarchitecture.com and see some of their projects like those pictured here.) He is excited to begin the project and believes our vestibule has “good bones”. Chip’s team believes that everyone

who will be served by the architectural design should be invited into the process. He knows that different people with different abilities,

different needs, different goals, and with different budgets need architects with something more than cookie-cutter solutions.
