Each campus has approximately 150 to 250 students enrolled throughout the year.

Gene Juarez Academy will prepare students to become a licensed cosmetologist seeking a salon-field career. Students

are trained in both the theory and practical experience of cutting, styling and chemical processing of the hair and

provided a basic introduction to manicuring and esthetics. Upon licensing, graduates may practice their hair design

and technical skills, as well as provide basic nail and facial services in a salon.

Iron curling, shampooing, air form and women’s haircutting. Air forming

service exchanges the first week.

1B. TECHNICAL BASICS4 weeks in the classroom. All work performed on mannequins. Color

theory, color application, lightener theory, lighteners, foiling and

perming.

1C. START TAKING GUESTS4 weeks. Ease into taking guests 1 day per week with 2 days dedicated

to practicing more advanced sculpture and technical concepts. Salon

Success program, advance perms, relaxers, flat irons and men’s sculpture.

12 weeks. Take guests 2 days per week with morning theory and 1 full

theory day. Salon Success program, roller setting, long hair styling,

manicures, pedicures, facials, waxing, makeup, Mastering the Art of

Success, product education, corrective coloring, balayage, advanced

12 weeks. Take guests 3 days per week with morning theory. Anatomy

and physiology (skeletal, muscular, nervous and circulatory systems),

of afternoon theory for state board exam prep, Salon Success program,

Gene Juarez Academy will prepare students to become a licensed manicurist seeking a salon or spa-field position.

Students are trained in both theory and practical experience with an emphasis on natural nail manicure and pedicures,

reflexology of the hand and foot, and the care of nails and the skin that surrounds them. Upon licensing, graduates

may perform nail services offered in professional salon or spa environments.

Cleaning, shaping, and polishing of the nail and treatment of the cuticles, hand manipulations, and care of the skin of the hand. Demonstration of safety, sanitary, first aid procedures, and proper use of all implements needed to provide service.

To complete the FAFSA, you will need your tax return and other asset information. Gene Juarez Academy awards $1,000 per Cosmetology applicant and $500 per Manicuring applicant through our merit scholarship. This scholarship is open to all graduating high school seniors.
