Day-to-Day Legal Issues Expanding operations into another country• J Sagar Associates worked with Nuru Energy, an energy

generation enterprise, to adapt an existing shareholder agreement to support Nuru's expansion in India. Nuru Energy developed a pedal-powered energy generator operated by micro-entrepreneurs across India to provide energy for rural communities and income to the entrepreneurs, in a country where half a billion people still have no access to electricity.

License agreements• White & Case drafted a license agreement for the Living

Furniture Project, a social enterprise in the UK that trains and employs homeless people to make luxury furniture from recycled materials

Governance and corporate structure advice• Routledge Modise provided governance and structuring

advice for the South African branch of Islamic Relief to tie the organisation more closely to the international Islamic Relief network.

Cross Border Research for Policy Change• Governments frequently cite

concerns related to data privacy and security, and the protection of individual health information, as key barriers to the expansion of mHealth. We brought together the UN Foundation’s mHealth Alliance and legal teams from Baker & McKenzie and Merck to create a comprehensive global review of privacy and security policies in the field of mobile health. The guide also provides recommendations for ensuring the security of health data that is collected and transmitted over mobile devices.
