WHAT TO BOOK: 'GOING PUBLIC – THE NAPOLEONE COLLECTION' By Frances Hedges 7 July 2016 Michael Leckie Valeria Napoleone is set to exhibit a selection of pieces from her extensive collection of work by women artists at the Graves Gallery, part of Museums Sheffield, this July. The exhibition, which seeks to redress gender imbalance in the arts world, showcases large-scale, ambitious pieces by leading contemporary artists from around the world, including Joanne Greenbaum, Rebecca Morris, Ida Ekblad and Monica Bonvicini. Among the highlights will be Greenbaum's 'Fat Yellow', a graphic composition that exemplifies her playful, abstract use of bold colours and shapes, and a typically eerie portrait of a young woman by the Italian figurative painter Margherita

Valeria Napoleone is set to exhibit a selection of pieces from her extensive collection of work by women artists at the Graves Gallery, part of Museums Sheffield, this July.

Public' series, which presents highlights from some of the most important private collections of 20th-century and contemporary works across Europe. The series has attracted more than 135,000 visitors since its launch in 2015.

The exhibition runs from 15 July to 1 October 2016 at Museums Sheffield Graves Gallery, Surrey Street, Sheffield. It will then run from 10 December 2016 to 11 March 2017 at Touchstones Rochdale, The Esplanade, Rochdale.
