March 5, 2016: New SAT Up coming up
January 23, 2016: The last current SAT administered
New SAT Subjects Tested
2 comprehensive SAT subject sections
1. Evidence-Based Reading and Writing
2. Math(1 section with calculator, 1 section without calculator)
New SAT: How much time you have
3 hrs to complete exam (breaks not included)
50 mins for essay (optional)
New SAT: Essay OPTIONAL
50 minutes for the optional essay
* Double check with your universities of choice whether they’ll still require you to complete the essay portion of the New SAT *
New SAT Scoring
✔ Total score of 1600! (800 max per section)
✔ Essay scoring is separate (score 2-8)
✔ No penalty for skipping, guessing. Points only for correct answers!
New Evidence-Based Reading
❏ 52 Questions in 65 minutes
❏ Passages 500-750 words➔ 10-11 questions per passage
Highlights1. More straight-forward passages2. Infographics may be included with passages
