How many hours should I have for personal study time?

As much as you can, taking into account all the other things that you are committed to.A rough guideline is 2:1 – for every 1 hour of MIT class time, set aside 2 hours for study time. REMEMBER: it’s not so much how much time you have on paper, but how you USE it that counts!

What if I just can’t get any more study time in?

How can I save time?

Plan ahead. Taking 10 minutes to plan your day looking at the different things you will do SPECIFICALLY can save you hours in the long run.Delegate. Get somebody else to do things for you so you can use that time for something else. E.g. housework, shopping, picking up the kids.Delay. If there is something that can be done later (i.e. it’s not a priority), then make a time to do it later when you are not so busy.
