For over a year now, there has been a strong political will to increase greatly the transparency over corporate financial transactions. The original proposal from the European Commission on non-financial reporting (environmental, social and employee matters) for large companies was completed by several amendments from MEPs (Members of the European Parliament) requesting the introduction of some Country by Country Reporting (CbCR) provisions. Why such a tendency and what does it mean for risk managers and their companies?
