IntroductionAs an adjunct professor at Berkeley College in Woodland

Park, New Jersey, Rosanne (Roseanne) Bostonian, Ph.D, is a professor of humanities in psychology. In this role she develops a syllabus, provides a curriculum, and evaluates the performance of her students. Away from her teaching duties, Ms. Rosanne (Roseanne) Bostonian, Ph.D, is an independent wholesaler for Young Living Essential Oils.

Quality essential oils are pure and consist of a therapeutic grade essential oil. Particular qualities are considered to determine whether a brand of essential oils is truly of therapeutic grade. To begin with, oils should be undiluted, contain no synthetics, and be 100 percent pure.

Essential OilsNo pesticides, fertilizers, herbicides, or other harmful

chemicals should be present where the plant (the source of the oil) was grown. If an essential oil company is purchasing its plants from a wholesaler, it typically won’t truly know the conditions in which the plants were grown; therefore, it can’t be 100 percent sure there were no chemicals involved.

In addition to the plants being organic, essential oils should be distilled at the optimal temperature. If distilled at too high a temperature, this can extract the majority of the plant’s oils at a rapid pace and lead to damage of the essential oil on the molecular level, reducing its therapeutic quality.
