What is the Rubber Chicken?

• Spirit and cheering competition between LC and Ferris. – Josh Collins, LC 1983 ASB President

came up with the idea.– First high schools in Spokane with a

spirit basketball game – other schools copied us!

– Students are judged on sportsmanship, creativity, attendance, volume, half-time performances, and application of the Rubber Chicken theme.

– The Rubber Chicken is the highest attended high school basketball game in the region!

Thank you for your donations!

• Part of the spirit competition will be judged based on each school’s charity work prior to the games.

• So, not only does the Rubber Chicken support school spirit, but it also helps to feed needy people in the Spokane community.

• Your canned food donations from December go directly to both LC’s own Tiger Pantry and Spokane’s Second Harvest Food Bank.

– Spokane Arena • How much does it cost to attend?

– Free entry with ASB/GSL card or $6 Adult/$4 Student– Parking at the arena is $6.

• How can you help LC score points?– Good sportsmanship, follow cheerleaders instructions,

stay inside and cheer• The outcomes of the boys and girls basketball games

do not figure into the spirit competition scoring

What do you know about Rubber Chicken?

• When should you get there?– By the start of the girl’s game (5:30pm)

• What should you wear?– Rubber Chicken t-shirt or anything orange– Purchase your RC t-shirt in the Book Room

• What can you NOT wear?– No Body paint– Face paint is okay.

• What should you bring and not bring?– NO – backpacks, large bags, outside food/drink,

noisemakers– YES – friends, family, $ for concessions if you are

hungry
