What is the program about? This program is about Global Health with a focus on poorer countries facing huge health challenges. Costa Rica provides an excellent case study of a relatively poor country that gives priority to its people and the environment over making money. The results of the Costa Rican emphasis on education, recreation, healthcare and environmental protection, in terms of health and wellbeing, are remarkable. In fact, Costa Ricans enjoy better health and longer lives than Americans.

Students will• Take an intensive conversational Spanish course• Attend seminars provided by local healthcare professionals• Visit healthcare facilities and schools
