SALES TAX USE IS LIMITED•  Sales tax revenue cannot be used to hire teachers or staff •  DMPS has spent $630 million on school renovation and construction over

the past 20 years •  Unlike many other districts, no sales tax revenue has been spent on stadiums

as school needs have been the first priority

HIGH COSTS•  Estimate to upgrade current stadiums to comparable level of the proposed

new stadium: $60 million •  Cost per stadium ranges from $8 million to $19 million per school
