Scope of work - On Board ME & ME-C

• Installation of new SPAFF file with revised governor settings

• Short sea trial with performance to ensure we are on the right side of the propeller curve with new settings and to exclude issues with worn out fuel pumps etc. • MAN Recommends to measure performance at minimum 3 load points

• 25% of original SMCR • 50% of original SMCR • New max load


Scope of work – On Board MC & MC-C

• Adjustment and locking of the mechanical stop screw on the connection from

local control.( Slightly above Governor set point to avoid interference with full rpm ordered from Governor)

• Limit the Governor to new rpm max set point • Limit the Governor max index • Decrease over speed set point accordingly.

• Engine Power Limitation limits the maximum engine power (SMCR) output

• Engine Power Limitation is performed by: • Updating the engine governor with new maximum fuel index value • Updating the engine governor with new maximum rpm value

• Classification is not part of the Engine Power Limitation (EPL).

• Engine Power Limitation does NOT change the engine performance • No update to technical file included.

• The fuel pumps including all index regulating equipment must be within the limitations set in the MAN Diesel and Turbo operational and maintenance manuals.

• Engine Power Limitation is performed by: • Updating Engine Control System (ECS) up-dated to version 13.04 • Engine Control System (ECS) parameter file updated (SPAFF file)

• Classification is not part of the Engine Power Limitation (EPL).

• Engine Power Limitation does NOT change the engine performance • No update to technical file included.

• The fuel pumps including all index regulating equipment must be within the limitations set in the MAN Diesel and Turbo operational and maintenance manuals.
