What is Choice Point Mapping? Choice Point Mapping is the process of identifying the negative neural pathways that your mind habitually follows and rewiring the brain to choose new pathways, creating the results you desire. This workbook will act as a discovery process to help you uncover the mental, emotional, and action blocks you are currently experiencing. Then you will develop a clear picture of the destination you prefer, along with the Neuro Tools that will lead you there.

Overview of the process:

Mapping the Block

Step 1: Identification - What is the block?

• What do you want? Why do you want it?

• What is your current performance gap?

• Why do you think you are getting these results?

Page 4: What is Choice Point Mapping?...A-1 If you are not taking action or you are not taking enough, use the list below to identify what might be blocking you from the action required for

Step 2: Investigation - Where does this block live?

Is this a mindset challenge? Do you experience negative or limiting thoughts on a regular basis? Examples might be:

• Identity – “I’m not good at this.” • Thoughts – “I can’t…” • Beliefs – “I never achieve my goals.” • Pictures – Seeing yourself fail or fall short. • Perspectives – Optimist, realist, pessimist. • Definition – Mind evaluations. • Low self-worth – “I’m not enough.” • Low level of deservability– “I don’t deserve…”

Write your personal mindset blocks here:

Is this an emotional challenge? Do you feel negative emotions on a regular basis? Examples might be:

• Fear • Doubt • Helplessness • Hopelessness • Worry • Stress • Judgment • Lack

Write your personal emotional blocks here:

Is this an action/results challenge?

• Do you know the action that is required to achieve your goal? Write it here:

• Are you taking the action listed above? If not, see A-1 below.

• Are you taking enough of it? If not, see A-1 below.

• Are you getting the results you should be getting? If not, see A-2 below.

A-1 If you are not taking action or you are not taking enough, use the list below to identify what might be blocking you from the action required for your success.

• Fear – Brain’s response to perceived threat

o Fight

o Flight

o Freeze

• Self-Sabotage – Self-protection mechanism of the mind

o Procrastination

o Avoidance

o Distraction

o Overwhelm

o Over-commitment

o Priority shift

o Rationalization

o Life drama

• Write your personal action/result blocks here:

A-2 If you are taking the right action but not getting the results you expect, take a moment to evaluate the following:

As you take the action required for success? What are you thinking, picturing, or believing? Are you thinking or believing any of the following examples?

• Why bother? • It didn’t work before, what makes me think it will work now? • He/She is probably not interested. • I’m not ready. • I can’t do this. • I’m not enough.

Describe the thoughts that run through your mind as you take action:

Do you think this mindset explains your results?

Page 7: What is Choice Point Mapping?...A-1 If you are not taking action or you are not taking enough, use the list below to identify what might be blocking you from the action required for

As you take the action required for success, where is your emotional set point? Are you feeling any of the emotions listed below?

• Desperation • Fear • Apathy • Resistance • Hopelessness • Doubt

What are the emotions you are feeling when you take action?

Do these emotions explain the results you are getting?

Step 3: Origins - Where did this block come from?

Think back through your life – start in early childhood and move through your life. Identify specific events or turning points that could have been the birthplace of this block/belief/feeling. Then see if you can remember the feelings or emotions you felt and any decisions you may have made about repeating this experience.

Now think back to your environment and the messages you received throughout your life that relate to this block. Think about the messages your parents, caregivers, authority figures, peers, teachers, religious leaders, and media influences may have given you. Think about the life conditions you lived with as they relate to this block. Make sure you include any messages you may have internalized about your gender, intelligence, self-esteem, and your ability to achieve.

Step 4: Impact – How have these decisions affected me?

What negative impacts have these events, messages, and decisions had on my life already? Select the 5 most impactful decisions you have made. Identify the impact they've had on your life, as of today. Decision 1 –

• Impact

Decision 2 – • Impact

Decision 3 – • Impact

Decision 4 – • Impact

Decision 5 – • Impact

Step 5: Destination - Where will it lead me?

If I continue down this path and keep letting these decisions lead my choices, where will these thoughts/beliefs/emotions/actions lead me in the next 5, 10, 20 years? What impact will the block have on my self-esteem?

What is the impact the block will have on my business or career?

How will this block impact my relationships?

What impact will this block have on my finances?

If I continue down this path, how will I feel about my life?

Step 6: Consequence – What is the price I will pay for continuing to choose this path? What will my family never get to do, have, or experience?

How will I feel about myself and where will that lead me?

What are the opportunities I will never take advantage of?

What is the price I may have to pay?

Step 7: Decision – Choice Point

The moment when you can consciously make a new decision, choose a new path, or move in a new direction.

Awareness of the moment • Gateway thoughts, feelings, habits, and behaviors

What are the FIRST thoughts you think that lead you down this negative path?

What are the FIRST emotions you feel that lead you down this negative path?

Page 14: What is Choice Point Mapping?...A-1 If you are not taking action or you are not taking enough, use the list below to identify what might be blocking you from the action required for

What are the FIRST habitual behaviors you do (or don’t do) that lead you down this negative path?

What are the triggers that occur which cause you to move down this negative path?

The power of the STOP is the MOMENT of Conscious Choice If I continue = results I will continue to get and the price I will pay. Decide - Choose a new path.

Mapping a path to a new destination requires some mind reconstruction. You are creating a new neuro pathway that will lead you to the future you design.

Step 8: Dream Storming the Destination – What do you want instead?

What would your future look like if… Your past negative experience had NO influence or impact on your future?

Your past successes were only a fraction of what is possible for you?

You believed you could live the life of your dreams?

Page 16: What is Choice Point Mapping?...A-1 If you are not taking action or you are not taking enough, use the list below to identify what might be blocking you from the action required for

You moved past ANY mental or emotional block and stepped into your personal greatness?

Fear and doubt were emotions that no longer stopped you from the kind of action required for success?

You lived in complete ease and flow while achieving your goals and living your dreams?

Page 17: What is Choice Point Mapping?...A-1 If you are not taking action or you are not taking enough, use the list below to identify what might be blocking you from the action required for

Step 9: Cause and Effect - What thoughts, feelings, and actions will get you there?

Since the thoughts, feelings, and decisions you made about yourself and your life are the causes that have created your current effect, to change the future effect, you must change the cause.

What NEW decisions would you have to make about yourself (which are the cause) to arrive at the new destination (the new effect)?

To arrive at the destination identified above, what would you have to believe about yourself? (Examples: your abilities, intelligence, potential, decisions, intuition, etc.)

What would you have to believe about life? (Examples: things always work out for your good, everything you need comes exactly when you need it, that if you seek, you always find, etc.)

Page 18: What is Choice Point Mapping?...A-1 If you are not taking action or you are not taking enough, use the list below to identify what might be blocking you from the action required for

What do you think others who have what you want believe about themselves?

What do you think others who have what you want believe about life?

Go back to page 7 & 8 and identify any other beliefs you currently hold or decisions you have made that no longer support your new destination. Then write out a better decision. Where can you turn old beliefs and decisions into powerful, positive declarations like, I CAN, I WILL, I AM, and Life Is.

Step 10: Choice Points - What are the NEW Gateway choices to make?

Moment when you can consciously make a new decision, chose a new path, or move in a new direction.

Gateway thoughts, feelings, habits, and behaviors

What are the FIRST thoughts you must think that will lead you down this new path?

What are the FIRST emotions you must feel that will lead you down this new path?

What are the FIRST habitual behaviors you must do (or not do) that will lead you down this new path?

Page 21: What is Choice Point Mapping?...A-1 If you are not taking action or you are not taking enough, use the list below to identify what might be blocking you from the action required for

Step 11: Neuro Success Mapping Use the information you have created throughout this workbook to fill in the details on the map. This is your daily reminder of the old path and price you'll pay if you allow yourself to continue to choose that path. It also gives you a new path to choose and prepares you for the moment of conscious choice.

Step 12: Rewiring your mind using your new Choice-Point Map Review the map 3 times per day.

In the morning to set the tone and remind yourself of the gateway warning signals.

Prior to any potential trigger activity to remind yourself of your new choice.

After any failed opportunity to choose the new path, gently remind yourself to get right back on the path.
