What is AMSA?

AMSA Members for Healthcare Reform (2012)

• The only medical association in the US that is not sponsored by a pharmaceutical company

How to JoinJoining is very simple:

1. Apply 2. Get Accepted 3. Pay dues

Membership Requirements:• UH Main Campus undergraduate• GPA of a 3.1 or higher (we encourage

those who are below to still apply)

Active membership:• 75% of all general meetings• 1 volunteer event• 2 fundraising events (volunteer or

provide supplies)• 1 medical school event (Fall or Spring)• 1 social event

Only new national members get a free t-shirt

Medical Missionary Trip!

• Go to Cancun, Mexico with UHD-AMSA chapter members!

• May 17-25th

• $1595 (not including airfare)!

• Provide medications and health services in underserved urban and outlying Mayan communities. Our global health teams set up field clinics and work with local, licensed medical professionals to provide basic health care in these underserved communities.
