• What drives global agriculture and where production is heading to.

• Principles: Independent, non-political, non-profit
• Coordination: von Thünen Institute (German Federal Research Institute) and DLG (German Agricultural Society)
• Funding: vTI, & industry partnerships & research projects

What is a Typical Farm
A standard operating procedure (SOP) to define typical farms was developed and is used by all partners involved.
A typical farm…� represents the origin of a major share of the nation al
output in a given crop� can not be identified with an existing farm� is defined by a certain production system and a
combination (if any) of enterprises� has certain structural features re. ownership of land
as well as labor organization (family vs. hired)
