WHAT IS A NATIONAL PLUS SCHOOL?

1. Member of Association of National Plus Schools (ANPS). Membership is open to any school that pays the fee.

2. Accredited by ANPS within 1 year of joining ANPS

ANPS Accreditation There are four levels of accreditation:• Category A: meets all of the “Mandatory” and all of the

“Developing” indicators,• Category B: meets all of the “Mandatory” and 50% of

the “Developing” indicators,• Category C meets all of the “Mandatory” indicators, • Category P: “Provisional” member and provides clear

documentary evidence that the school is working towards meeting all of the “Mandatory” indicators.(ANPS June 2004)

Recent Changes• School must show operational permit or

accreditation from government to be considered for ANPS accreditation.

• Four levels of school (TK, SD, SMP, SMA) may be evaluated separately, which means separate documents may be required and different levels may achieve different categories of accreditation.

Recent Changes• Schools with certain internationally-

recognized accreditation may also be given ANPS accreditation at the same level. For example, a PYP school may automatically receive category A accreditation from ANPS for its TK and SD. Other levels in the school would have to submit documentation to support accreditation.
