During the production of my music magazine I have learnt a variety of technologies which
helped me to produce the magazine.
Photoshop
Photoshop is a high end edition and design software which allows to extend your creativity though the variety of tools that are available to you. Using Photoshop I was able to do a number of different things to help me create my magazine. To the right is an example of how I created the logo of
‘VOLT’ magazine.I was able to gain a lot of knowledge after using Photoshop for example the different layers and how to crop and cut around images. These basic skills were vita during the production of my music magazine.
InDesign
Another program which is quite similar to Photoshop is InDesign. There program is more based around the text and the layout of the magazine. For me I found this program much more complicated to use but once I started using in it became a lot easier. Although you are unable to edit and manipulate images in this program it was very easy to transfer images from Photoshop into InDesign and work with where you place them.
Above is a screen grab of my work in the program. You can see some of the tool that are available to you as well as the different layer types and text styles.
Using PowerPoint then helped me upload my presentations using slideshare. The presentation of the program allows you to express yourself as you are able to include pictures and colours to make what would be a side of writing seem a lot better to read.
www.dafont.com is a free text download website . They have thousands of different text styles which you are able to pick from. They are separated into the different themes which makes it a lot easier to pick and choose the ones that you want . This is all free which is great and they save straight into all your dograms once they have been downloaded.
YouTube was a free and easy way to showcase videos on my blog for example :http://zandilemedia.blogspot.com/2011/09/introduction.html here are some videos posted earlier on in my showing the types of music that I like.
