What have you learnt about technologies from the process of

constructing this product?Jack Campbell

Throughout the process of creating my magazine I have learnt about many new technologies that I used to create my work. I have learnt about new software such as Photoshop as well as websites such as Blogger which I used to store my work online. I had never used Photoshop before I started my coursework

but I quickly learnt about many of the different tools on it. I experimented with creating different layouts for my magazine and this meant I could choose a layout which was creative yet conventional. The program was difficult at first but after I adapted I found it very useful when editing my work. These are just some of the tools I used- Quick selection- The blur tool- Transform scale / rotation- Character (for font and layout related issues) - Spot fix, - Red eye removal,- Layer style - Gaussian blur

Crop toolI used this to crop out parts of the image that I didn’t need and didn’t want to use. To use you must click the crop tool, drag over the area you want to keep then press OK to allow the crop to take place.

Spot healing toolI used this tool to remove blemishes and spots from my main image, then this clears the skin up to make it appear smooth. To do this, click the tool drag over the are of skin you want to touch up then release the mouse. The program will correct the blemish for you.

TransformBy using transform you can edit the Scale (left) and rotate the image.

Quick selection toolThis allows you to select an area to then perhaps change the colour or opacity. To do this, pick the quick selection tool then highlight the specific area of image you want to change by clicking on it.

Magic eraser tool

By using the magic eraser tool, you can cut out your images leaving a blank background. I found this useful for my DPS where my cut out image is superimposed on the background. To do this select the magic eraser, click on the background and it will remove it.

BloggerI used this website to store all my coursework

and research throughout the year. Throughout the year, I learnt how to create posts and change the date of them so they would appear in the order that I required them to be in for my blog. I learnt how to embed images, videos, Slideshares, Prezis and GoAnimates as I have done throughout my evaluation.

Using font from Dafont

I used Dafont to get fonts for my magazine as they are much more creative than the fonts that are on Photoshop. To do this I print screened the font I wanted to use on the website, pasted it, zoomed in, cropped it then inserted it into my magazine.
