What difference will it make? An anonymised version of the data we collect is available online from the Norweigan Social Science Data Service archive, and can be used by anyone. The study provides the most reliable, independent information collected on the real views of people in Europe – and what we find out often doesn’t agree with the politicians. Organisations quoting the study include national charities like Age UK, Oxfam and National Council for Voluntary Organisations, not to mention its extensive use by university researchers and the media. What is Living in England about? This study will find out what people really think about the big issues affecting their communities in 2014. It’s an opportunity for all those taking part to give their opinion on everything from health and education, to immigration and their trust in politicians. The research has been going since 2002, and is part of a larger study being carried out across Europe. The results will help us understand how our society is changing over time, and how this compares with people elsewhere on the continent. How much do you trust the police? How well do you think the health service is run? What do you think about immigration? Do you think European integration has gone too far? Are our MPs doing a good job? We want to find out your true views. NatCen Social Research, Kings House, 101-135 Kings Road, Brentwood, Essex CM14 4LX Tel. 0800 526 397. Company limited by guarantee. Reg No. 4392418.
