What delegates say about CIH events
About the eventThe CIH North East conference is the region’s premier annual housing event and attracts up to 200 professionals during the two days. This year’s conference will have a fresh new look with its move to a modern new venue in the heart of Durham. The 2014 conference hosts an array of interactive sessions, good practice sessions on new ways of working, and advice will be provided from leading experts from inside and outside the housing sector. This year’s event provides a great opportunity for housing professionals to network and engage with their colleagues, partners and suppliers to identify and solve the challenges ahead from a North East regional perspective
This year’s conference considers the strategic and political issues facing todays housing providers. During the first session key housing speakers will analyse the state of the region, looking at the solutions to existing and emerging issues that face housing organisations across the North East. As the impacts of welfare reform continue to emerge, speakers will debate what areas are being affected and how the impacts can be minimised.
With less than a year to the General Election, politicians from all parties have acknowledged that we face a housing crisis that requires urgent attention. Delegates will hear from opinion leaders from across the political spectrum on how the different parties understand and think about housing. Trying to be ahead of the game is a difficult challenge. Speakers will attempt to predict what the big ideas and innovations in housing will be over the next 20 years to raise awareness for delegates planning their future business strategy. This year saw the care bill receive royal assent in May and there will be a session on how to deliver integration across housing health and care.
Master classes On each day a selection of interactive master classes will offer delegates the opportunity to hear best practice from r organisations who are celebrating success in the North East region. Sessions will include:
z Creating a positive community impact
z A successful approach to tenant scrutiny
z Leading the way – a professional legacy
z Strategic asset management
z Being planet smart, saving money
z Delivering value for money and demonstrating it to stakeholders
z Digital inclusion – getting tenants online to access services
2014 is an exciting year for the CIH North East event as we move to a new modern venue in the Radisson Blu Hotel in Durham. Moving to a modern venue has enabled us to develop a fresh new approach to the conference. We are able to house all our exhibitors in the one area and therefore the potential to network will be second to none. All the sessions are located on the ground floor with the exhibitors, so you will be able to easily move around the conference making sure you get to as many sessions as possible.
Alongside the banks of the quaint River Wear, the Radisson Blu Hotel occupies a premium setting. The hotel’s enviable location in the Durham city centre affords easy access to major motorways as well as the Mainline Railway Station. There are also 130 car parking spaces on-site which will all be provided on a complimentary basis to delegates and free high-speed, wireless Internet.
Exhibition and Sponsorship With the move to the new venue, all exhibitors will be integrated into the one conference area to enable excellent networking opportunities. With such a wide range of delegates attending from key housing providers based in the North East region, this is an excellent opportunity for your organisation to be represented and to promote your products and services. Refreshments and lunch will be served in the exhibition area to give you high visibility and maximum exposure during the two days. The conference also has a variety of sponsorship opportunities to help create a lasting impression.
Conference Dinner The conference dinner is a great opportunity to network with people in the industry in a relaxed atmosphere. Why not take a corporate tables of 10 to entertain your guests, this is an unmissable change to entertain your most important clients.
If you are interested in sponsorship or exhibition opportunities for this event please contact Dale Smith who will find an opportunity that fits your branding and organisational strategy. Further details can be found at www.cih.org/exhibitionandsponsorship or Tel: 024 7685 1722 email: [email protected]
