    SHEPHERDS CORNER

    Dear Sisters and Brothers,

Today, St. John the Baptist has a

message to tell us about Jesus Christ. In this

season of Advent, the Church extends to us the

call of John the Baptist to repent and confess our

sins in preparation of the One who is to come.

Advent is an opportunity to rediscover our total

dependence on God. God has made us for

Himself, as, St. Augustine discovered, and our

hearts are restless till they rest in God. When

we realize our dependence on God and make

room for Him in our lives, in our homes, in our

communities and in our church, then we are on

the way to true repentance after the example of

    John the Baptist.

Dear friends, let us listen to the voice that shouts

in the wilderness for He is the voice, that speaks

well of the name of His Only Son Our Lord

    Jesus Christ.

    God Bless Us Always,

    Fr. Jojo

Are you interested in learning more about the Catholic Church? Perhaps you know someone who has been asking about what you believe. If so, bring them to a Monday

evening session. Our next gathering is Dec. 11th. The topic this week is The People of God.

Preparation for First Reconciliation In this last week of preparation the children will remember the story of the Good Shepherd. The lamb needed the shepherds help when he chose to run from the one who loved him most. Sometimes we are like the lamb and go

down dangerous paths. Though we may be discouraged by ourselves, Jesus is our Good Shepherd, constantly tending and searching, ready to welcome us back in love and forgiveness. Please keep these children and their families in your prayers as they prepare to celebrate the sacrament for

the first time on Dec. 16th.

Childrens Faith Formation Next week (the 17th) is our last class before our Holiday Break. We will gather at our usual time 9 a.m. We will then be enjoying a long winter break until January 21st when classes resume. Please remember to go Mass while we are away.
