MULTIMEDIA THE APPLIED STREAM Students develop their skills through project work, work placement and industrial visits as well as the development of 9 CoreLife Skills comprising Interpersonal, Foundational Literacies, Critical Thinking, Personal Development, Innovation and Creativity, Technology, Social and Cultural intelligence, Sustainability and Enterprise. A comprehensive Careers Programme supports students identify personal strengths, skills and interests as well as guide them with career choices and develop their employability skills. The work placement programme takes place in Grade 11 and 12 and allows students the opportunity to apply their knowledge to the real world of work. How will I develop my skills? What are some of my career pathways? Data Entry Clerk Database Administrator Digital Marketer IT Security Coordinator IT Support Technician Social Media Manager Technical Architect How will I be assessed? Specialised Skills are 100% continually assessed with no examinations. Applied Maths and Applied Science are 90% continually assessed with 10% weighting for examinations. Students will explore the different digital media sectors and the products they produce. They will also understand the range of technological platforms used to distribute media, and how each sector has a common production process. They will develop a brief for the production of a new media product or service, and they will develop and apply enterprise skills to plan and produce the product. In addition, students will explore codes and conventions of different magazine genres and platforms. They will select and prepare content and create layouts for a specific genre of magazine. Students will explore the commissioning process and how media producers respond to clients by generating ideas using a range of skills. Students will also develop an understanding of and the skills associated with modern app development and contemporary website production. What will I study?
