Dedication Page I would like to thank my English Teacher Ms. Sullivan for teaching me throughout this

year. Ms. Sullivan taught me how to understand English in deeper meaning teaching me to dig deeper on simple writings that would normally mean nothing to me. I would like

to thank Mr. Taylor my art teacher he gave me a more of a creative outlook of things. So I became more creative with my writing throughout the year.

I would like to also thank my parents for pushing me through this year. They helped me strive for my best this school year. They would help me develop better

techniques on things mainly writing. They would always push me to do better every day. Even if I made a 100 percent on a test they would still push me to do better.

I would also like to thank my friends. I would like to thank Kenton Yarbrough,

Brett Mccoy, Aaron Scott, Alfredo Benavidez, Ty Bohannan , Alex Pemberton, Remington Cozad, and Jack Eaton. They made my last year here the best. I had a lot of fun with them and they really made me enjoy my time here. Some of my writings are actually based off

of the things we did.

Biographical Sketch This past year I’ve learned a lot. I’ve gained a lot of knowledge and a few new friends. This year

I’ve become a better writer than I was last year. I’m even a better writer than I was when the second nine weeks had started.

Unit 1 My first set of writings is over stories I have made myself. This shows how well I can think of a

story right off the bat. It shows if you give me a prompt. Ask me to make a short or a long story of it I can do it. I can make a story of out almost every story type prompt that is given to me.

Unit 2 My second set of writings is prompts that asked me to answer a question. This shows how I can explain on a deeper level or explain the deeper meaning to the question. It shows I can find the

essential question it is hiding and then answer it. I also answer these questions on my own personal feelings.

Unit 3 My last set of writings is about random topics that were given to me. This shows how I can just go into a different type of each time I get ready to write a normal story or a quick write. From

write a random story. To a do what you want type of quick write in English. It shows I can snap into an emotional type of writing or a comedic, and even a serious type of writing. It shows how

well I elaborate on different topics.

Where Did the Train Go? I didn’t know exactly where the train was going. After paying my fare, I simply stood on

the platform waiting for it to whisk me away to somewhere, anywhere but here. And that’s

when it happened a delay was called on the train’s departure due to some faulty wiring so a

couple of mechanics went to fix it. The delay would last until tomorrow morning so I stepped off the train and headed back to town.

The town I wanted to leave. It’s not that I hated this place I loved it actually. But I have the urge to explore I’ve wanted to explore ever since I was a kid. Even if it is just a

different town there’s new people and different places! So I wandered around the town that I grew up in. All my friends don’t live here anymore they left to go live a new life.

They went to find a new adventure for themselves. But I stayed here waiting for my chance to leave and it has come.

I went to the old hotel near Coffee House and rented myself a room. I needed to keep my hopes up so I could go on the train with a better attitude than the one I have

had tonight. When I awoke to the sun shining in my face and the birds chirping I peered over to my clock and realized the train was about to leave. I quickly packed my things and left the hotel and went to go to on the train. I made it just in time for it to depart. Finally! I am getting to explore new places to cure this urge of travel. I am leaving this

place.

-A Greek Son’s Life Every morning, I would wake up at sun rise and eat fruit and dried meat made from my mother from the night before. As usual we have a fire set up that we sit around and as each of

us put half of our food into the fire as offering to the gods. I would thank the gods for making

such wonderful animals to eat and so wonderful fruits to eat also. After we finished our food father and I would leave to go train.

I was not yet old enough to join the army to fight for my city. So since I was five my father has trained me in the ways of a Greek Warrior. My father said he thinks Ares has given

me the strength and stamina I have today. After some very hard training we would go in for lunch to rest our bodies for some time. When my father was out in town and I was mother and I

mother would teach me strategies. She would teach me where to attack an enemy castle so I can cripple the city as fast and easy as possible.

As soon as father would get home it would go back to train. We would train for until dusk would arrive then we would go back inside to have the finally meal of the night. I

would offer my food to the gods thank Ares for my strength and stamina. Then I Would get my bed ready and I would lay down and fall asleep and restart the same thing

tomorrow just different training.

A Stranded Squad We crashed on an island. We were flying in on a mission to take out the threat that has been on

this island for some time now. As we got ready to jump into the ocean and come in silently an engine malfunctioned and the plane had crashed a lot farther from the place we were to jump

into. We trained just in case this happened we checked the Pilots sadly they did not make it. My team of six swam onto the island. Lucky enough the enemy was not watching and they were

not alarmed by the crash. We hid under some trees for the night and would flow through with the attack the next night. During the morning and afternoon of the next day we watched the patrols to see where

they go. We ate our MREs and checked our weapons and sharpened our knives and got prepared for the attack that would happen that night. When the night came we snuck into the base and sneaked around the corners we made sure to keep our feet quiet. We saw a guard standing outside a door I jumped after him and pulled him inside the room he was guarding.

I knocked him out with my gun and stole his clothes so I could move around more freely in the base. We had to knock out a few more guards so my squad could get all dressed up. The man we were looking for was a drug lord holding a few hostages in this room so we went to the top floor of the base and got ready to attack. We knocked out his two elite guards and charged

into the room 3 of the squad sat in protection as we finished the drug lord. We got the key off him and released them and they followed us. This was now a rescue mission not an execution

mission. The guards found us out and rang alarms and we made sure to leave without being seen

we found a few boats that they would use to transport the drugs. Once we got in we had our best man hotwire the boat and we left that place. I almost felt like a boy from the Lord of The

Flies book I read in High School.

The Daily News A creative artist was spotted outside today. He was creating the most original and stunning

sculpture and painting today. He was using one hand and he was panting a bowl of fruit with a dog sitting in the bowl of fruit. It appeared the dog had an iPhone 5 in the dog’s mouth. In the

other hand he was sculpting a life size sculpture of his-self riding a camel. When we interviewed this “creative” artist he told us that he wanted to be put in the world record books as most

creative artist. We wanted this man’s dream to come true so we called the Guinness Book of World Records. His dream came true and it will be released to the public in 2099.

He is not guilty The trial was coming to an end. It was time for the jury to make a decision. The case was over

the murder of a 23 year old Jason Durello. It was a very long case stretching over 10 recalls to the same court house. The defendant was 25 year old Phil Chris. He was accused because he

was at the wrong place at the wrong time. There was a lot of evidence shown from cameras, photos, figure prints, weapon and weapon reports. When the jury members got in the room it

was a very mixed jury. One of the members wanted to see the video recording of the crime

scene. When they brought it in they spent 2 hours watching it. A brave jury member stood up and explained his thoughts and he changed the minds of all the jury members. Phil was found

not guilty and sent home.

8

Page 11: What A Great Year It Has Been!

What Will The Outcome Be? I think the outcome will be a hung jury. From what I’ve seen form the dialogue the jurors who

were for guilty choose hung jury. But those who were for not guilty choose not to be a hung jury. It ended up being 6 to 6 until a different juror switched. But with a couple others that

switched back to guilty will most likely say “This is a hung jury.” 9

Where Have You Traveled?

I have traveled to Missouri for Branson and I’ve also gone there for a church camp. I

didn’t get to really meet anyone my age in Branson because we were touring. We never really went to any really social places. If we were not at a museum or a Diner we were at our hotel.

But church camp that is a different story all together. I went to church camp with a youth group that one of my mom’s friend’s sons was in.

His name was Hayden. He is older than me he is about 17 now so I got up early to get in the van to go to the camp. I always hear stories about bad kids at church camps. Some people would

get pregnant there so I was a bit nervous. When we got there it had the style of log cabins but it

was like hotel room cabins. I had my own key card to get into the room I had a bunk bed at the top bunk it was

overall pretty nice. We would have breakfast and then morning service. We had a band called Blink play in our auditorium. After that we had an amazing speaker talk to us for about 30

minutes. He would tell us about his life and how to become closer with God. After that the band would play and we would have an hour of free time and after that we had 30 minutes of

“quiet time.” This time you went somewhere quiet and basically meditated and just talked with God. Then after that we would have lunch and then afternoon service.

The cycle would repeat towards night and then we would go to bed.

Who Belongs In What Group? It’s usually the leader of a group who usually decides if someone is really in the group or

not. If someone is not cool enough or a more negative type of person most groups with reject

and ignore the person. But if someone is very outgoing and social will be accepted in most groups.

11

Page 14: What A Great Year It Has Been!

Do We All Have Fears?

Everyone in the world has at least one fear. Whether it was something under your bed

or in a closet it could be the dark or heights. Everyone has a phobia of something. A lot of people say “I’m not afraid of anything.” When in reality they are just hiding what they fear to

look cool. Or, it could be true you are not afraid of anything…..yet. You will become to be afraid of

something throughout your life if you haven’t found it yet. Even if it’s a really small fear it is still a fear.

12

Page 15: What A Great Year It Has Been!

Do You Stand Out? Well, it would matter on the topic. Say it was for a question I don’t know and it’s a group

question I would go with the crowd and raise my hand with the most of the majority. But if it was over a more serious topic like religion or sports, I would stand up for what I believed in

even if everyone else disagreed. I would find a way to make it look like a viable choice to others so they would join me. Or try to find someone with the same beliefs.

Inspiration Well today is a freestyle quick write day. I have no idea what to write about so I’m going

to stall for the 10 minuets we have to write. I heard a very inspirational speaker talk yesterday and I can’t get his words out of my head. He was telling a story about how a kid wanted to

make a lot of money so he went to a guru. What happened was the guru and the kid went into the ocean and the guru

shoved the boy’s head into the water and left him there until he almost passed out. When he pulled him up the boy was gasping for breath. The guru said this “When you

want to succeed as bad as you want to breathe then you will be successful.” Those

words really got to me and I’ve kept then with me when I’m doing something hard. It boosts my energy.

14

Page 17: What A Great Year It Has Been!

Nature Bites Back Mother Nature has always has been causing a lot more trouble lately. She’s been

more active on causing forest fires, earthquakes, hurricanes, and tornados. I think it’s because she wants to punish the humans for harming her. With all of our toxic radiation

and oil and gas fumes going into the Ozone, so she starts to wipe out cities and towns and villages. She’s gone crazy she’s starting to hurt people who don’t hurt her at all.

It’s really sad to see that happen. She’s causing a lot of trouble for humans because the damage she causes makes the humans have to pay a lot of money. Just

remember you can run from Mother Nature but you can’t hide.

15

Page 18: What A Great Year It Has Been!

The Masks We Hide Behind The masks we wear is behind lies, sin, and fake emotion. Everyone has a

different mask on every day. Maybe someone is sad but acts like they are acts like they are really happy. They want to put on that mask because they don’t people to worry for

them. Or if someone is angry but acts like they are just fine and not mad. We even have a mask that we hide from god with we don’t know we

have it on. But when we go to Heaven God will reveal that mask to see who you truly are.

The Responsibilities of Student

The responsibilities student have are pretty basic things turn in your work on time. Pay something that is due or that you owe like a book. Turn in overdue books do

your home. And follow the rules and listen to your teacher. Of course there is consequence if you do not accomplish these things. Such as detention or ISS or even

OSS as far as it goes as consequence for a student is being expelled or being sent to court and eventually going to JCD. So it’s basic just follow the rules in school and you’ll

be just fine!

17

Page 20: What A Great Year It Has Been!

My House Rules The rules I am expected to follow are very easy ones. Such as do the chores

when I get home. Follow instructions and listen to my parents. The purpose of these rules is so the house stays in order and everything doesn’t go crazy. They teach me on

how to be responsible and not to take things for granite. My life would be completely different without these rules.

I would be a spoiled brat who thinks I can get anything by demanding it. The house would be in chaos my mom would probably go crazy from all the work. Rules are

essential on life for several reasons but those are my main ones.
