The word of the month is CITIZENSHIP:

Making your school, community, and world a better place through positive choices.

Students in grades 3rd-5th who are interested in LEARNING HOW TO KNIT

are invited to register for an afterschool enrichment class. Registration is beginning TODAY and ending on September 12th. Classes

will be held on Mondays from 2:45-3:45. Students will need transportation to and from the class. There is a nominal $10

knitters! Forms are in the office!

TEAM SIERRA

TEAM Sierra Budget/Allocation Meeting: 8/25 at 6pm in Room#20 Would you like to know how and where TEAM Sierra is allocating funds for this year? How about how we plan to bring funds in? Maybe you have ideas that will benefit our school? Join us at our meeting to help us get the ball rolling for field-trip planning, assemblies, school events, fundraising, etc. This meeting will focus on budget/allocations only. Please note: In order to have your vote counted, you need to be a voting member - please turn in your Membership Drive Form and money prior to, or at the meeting. Thank you. Membership Drive: 8/18 - 8/31 Help Our Garden Grow... and when we say garden, we mean our kiddos! Help them blossom and show your support by becoming a voting member, donating a few dollars and few hours of your time: earn a limited edition lanyard and/or t-shirt with your donation. Flyers with specific details were sent home at Back-to-School Night or Friday. Grow our Garden and help us get this year off on the right track! Local Business/Parent Awesomeness! A huge shout-out and THANK YOU to Jay Panos with Diamond Peak Construction for his help with refurbishing a shed for TEAM Sierra. We have needed a (new) storage shed for a long time and now we finally have it! Thank you Jay, for taking the time during your summer break to help us out! THANK YOU, Shannon Lealos with A Creative Stitch, for our Sparky Gear and Membership Drive T-Shirts. Another great job - our kiddos and parents couldn't look so snazzy without you!

When do you need a Visitor’s Badge? 1. If you are remaining on campus after stretch

2. If you are coming on campus anytime between 9:00-2:45, even if it is only for a minute or two

3. On Early Release Mondays, if you are on campus prior to 1:35.

If you arrive at school to pick up your students

prior to 2:45 (dismissal is at 2:55), you either need to sign in at the office and get a badge, or wait by one of the school entrances, off school grounds. This is for student and staff safety. It allows us to know who is on campus in case of an emergency. Also, keeping our halls clear, helps to maintain

the instructional time up to the final bell. Thank you for your understanding.

Library Birthday Book Club Your child has the opportunity to join the Birthday Book Club! It’s simple and all it takes is $5.00! Your student will get an invitation during his/her birthday month. If their special day was during the summer they will be able to join any time of the year. When they bring $5.00 to the library they will choose a brand new book from a special shelf. A sticker will be placed inside with their name, age, and birth date. They will be the first to check it out and take it home to share with you for one week, and then return it to the Library so it can become a part of our school collection. They will also receive a new book bag, a special bookmark and birthday pencil to keep. It’s a fun way for your child to take pride and ownership in our library and to share in the joy of giving a gift that will be shared by many children for years to come!
